3. A Cute Lamp

I always like to have a lamp on my bedside table. I try to read before I go to sleep at night and this is the perfect way to keep me from having to get out of bed to turn off the lights once I’m ready to sleep and too tired to move. I just flip off my lamp. Even if you don’t like to read before sleeping, it is nice to have a lamp to bring some light at nighttime. Sometimes, even when I’m studying, it can get too dark, so I flip on my lamp. This keeps my eyes from straining in the dark. That’s the last thing I want to worry about when I’m trying to focus on my schoolwork. It can also be a great way to make your room look super cute! Lamps come in all shapes and sizes, so find one that is your style, and it will make your room look awesome while being super functional!

4. Pictures

While college is so much fun, it can be saddening sometimes too. You are away from your family and home-town friends for long periods of time, and no matter how long you are in college, it can be hard to truly get used to it. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and they bring back a thousand memories. Pick out some of your favorite pictures. Pictures of you and your family on vacation. Pictures of you and your friends doing something crazy. And then go to your local Walgreens or CVS and get them printed out for you. There is something different about holding a photograph in your hands rather than looking at them through a screen. Take these pictures and put them all over your walls, hang them from your lights, tack them on your corkboard. Place them around so that you never forget where you came from, and so you can always look at them if you start to feel a little homesick.
