15 Comforters That Will Pull Your Whole Dorm Room Together

Comforters can make or break your dorm room aesthetic! Your bed is the first thing people notice when they walk in, so not only do you want it to be the epitome of comfort, but it’d be great if your bed looked amazing too! Check out this list of our top 15 comforters that will definitely be the star of your room in no time.

1. Navy & White Comforter Set:

Blue is a calming color. I don’t know if that is proven by anything or anyone, but it is immensely calming for me. Navy is the color of the deep sea and the beautiful night sky so maybe that’s why it’s known for bringing peace to people. At least it is always bringing peace to me since it’s one of my favorite colors and I not only wear it constantly but it’s the color of my comforter.

2.  Gold Accented Duvet Cover:

Sometimes you just need a touch of gold in your dorm room. I would love more than just a touch of gold in my entire life but that is beside the point. Either way, your room will look like a million bucks with this comforter set.

3. Black Comforter Set:

I love black. Nothing can ever top it and it will always be my favorite neutral. Black is also a great color for comforters because it shows fewer stains and the darkness gives off a “time for slumber” vibe. Also, because black is, you know, black, it’s always a good idea to accent it with other colors whether it be bright contrasting colors and white or darker tones like dark purple, grey, or red.

4. Blush Pink Comforter Set:

I feel like Blush pink is really in right now. I am seeing it everywhere; on Instagram, Pinterest, TV, clothing stores, and yes also bedspreads. Make sure your dorm room is known for being the “Instagram Goals” dorm room. Or at least make sure it looks that way when you actually have the time to make your bed and clean it.

5. Horizontal Stripe Pattern Comforter Set:

Classic Preppiness is embodied in a thick horizontal stripe. This pattern is so simple and versatile with it coming in many colors. It’ll go great with neutral pillows and blankets and everything in between, it really is that effortless. It’s the pattern of the always popular rugby shirts for a reason.

6. Grey Pinstripe Comforter:

If you are looking for a neutral comforter that will go with everything, go for a light grey pinstripe color. This comforter pattern reminds me of a relaxing beach vacation or the soft sheets in a nice hotel. It really is that great of a neutral and not only will it go with all of your throw blankets and sheets but it will also complement whatever bedspread your roommate brings.

7.  Tapestry Pattern Duvet Cover:

This kind of comforter is similar to the comforter I have in my dorm room and I just love it. Not only is it cool and colorful, but I feel like it’s kind of like a decoration. I don’t think I need many posters or art on my walls with such a colorful bedspread, though that doesn’t stop me.

For a preppy and classic look, go for a Polka Dot comforter. Polka Dot comforters will have everyone on your floor peeking in to get a look at the stylish room.

9.  Sea Green/Teal Comforter:

If you love the beach or are just missing the beach while you are away at college, then a sea-green or teal comforter would be perfect for you. When you crawl under the inviting covers, you’ll instantly be transported to a place that is just as relaxing as the beach. Or at least that is how I imagine it going.

10. Neutral Tye-Dye Comforter:

This is another style that has been all over my feed. It’s in T-shirts, wall art, and of course comforters. Tye dye is a nostalgic and happy pattern that will bring back summer memories of your family camping trips and music festivals. With all of the feeling attached to this pattern, it’ll definitely be a conversational piece for your dorm room.

11. Chevron Pattern Comforter:

I feel like this is another classic pattern since it just checks off every box. It’s colorful enough to the point where you wouldn’t need to go crazy with the wall art but it’s also not too busy. It’s classic enough that it’ll be a dorm bedspread staple for years to come but there are also variations depending on the popular colors of that season. You’ll definitely be able to find a chevron-patterned comforter to fit your personality.

12. Grey & Pale Blue Comforter Set:

For a soft and chic look, find a comforter set with the colors grey and a light, pale blue. Those colors go great together, and with everything else, so it’ll definitely be easy to pull together an entire room just based on these colors. I also don’t see this soft aesthetic going out of style like, ever so it will be able to last you all four years.

13.  Floral Patterned Comforter:

If you are in a snowy state (and also in the snowiest city in that very state) like I am, then you know how important the warm weather and spring flowers are. You also probably know that most of the time while you are at school, snow will be on the ground or it will be too cold for flowers to try and poke through the frozen ground. This is where a great floral-patterned comforter would come in handy. This way, you’ll always have flowers and that spring feeling every month of the school year.

14.  Deep Purple Duvet Cover:

This deep purple is a dark color that just promotes that calm feeling. At least it promotes calming for me since I am all about dark colors. It is also commonly known as the color of royalty so if you want to feel like a monarch in your dorm room or at least feel like a Nap Queen, then I would go with this bedspread.

15. White & Tan Comforter Set:

For a minimalistic aesthetic or a pristine-comfy look that looks like it was pulled off the PotteryBarn website, definitely go for a white and/or tan comforter set. It’ll look homey enough to welcome in all of your guests but refined enough to impress people. It is always an amazing, bold, and stylish move to choose white anything, let alone a comforter. At least that’s my opinion.
