We laugh, cringe, and cry as Lara Jean does and we want her to succeed in her relationships and journey to find love! 2. Always Be My Maybe

While we all have a soft spot for teenage romance, the older we become, the more we want to see older characters with established careers get their happy ending. Sasha and Marcus’ story begins when they were teenagers but they go their separate ways. After making it big in the cooking world, Sasha runs into Marcus for the first time in over a decade and the two have a bit of a rocky start. This Netflix movie is memorable for its big-name celebrity cameos as well as the satisfying ending you’ve been craving!

It is rare that sequels are as good or better than their predecessors but despite some problematic character qualities, this movie is better than the original! The complexity of balancing a long-distance relationship, maintaining friendships that are on the verge of disaster, and training for a dance competition that will determine where Elle can go to college hooks you from the first scene. Plus, who doesn’t love watching Noah finally have some competition as Marco literally sweeps Elle off her feet? She has many choices to make throughout the movie that’ll have you on the edge of your seat and might disappoint you in the end!

4. Set It Up

Most of the plot lines of romantic comedies are predictable but you have to appreciate when what you think is the subplot becomes the main plot. That is just what happens in this Netflix movie! Two miserable assistants, Harper and Charlie, set up their over-demanding, difficult bosses to make their lives easier. Initially, the only time they spend together is when they work together to plan out their bosses’ next date or to spy and track their progress but eventually, they start spending time together because they enjoy one another’s company. And the rest….well, you’ll have to it for yourself to find out!

5. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Love You

While the first movie was amazing, this one certainly takes the cake! Lara Jean and Peter face their first obstacles as a couple. The final letter accidentally sent out makes its way to John Ambrose and he and Lara Jean re-unite for the first time since Model U.N.. She is torn between both love interests and must choose to either stay with Peter or leave him for John. Ultimately, she makes the decision she thinks is best for her and leaves one of the eligible men out in the cold. 

6. He’s Just Not That Into You

Speaking of sub-plots becoming the main plot, this Netflix movie is the perfect romantic comedy! Not only is it filled with love, laughter, and drama, but there are sweet friendships and relationships that blossom in unusual circumstances. As these women learn the signs that a man just isn’t that into them, they become more confident, and have more control over their love lives than they were before! If you enjoy complicated storylines that bounce back and forth between multiple main characters, this movie is a great option for your next movie night.

7. Just Friends

We’ve all been in numerous situations where we thought that a particular friendship was turning into something more and then the other person hits us with the “we’re just friends” line. This Netflix movie is perfect to watch if you want to feel better about yourself as Chris heads back to his hometown and suddenly decides to shoot his shot with his high school best friend, Jamie. The serious of events that occur as he awkwardly tries to prove he’s worthy of leaving the friend zone is so funny that your sides will hurt. It’s an older movie, but it’s certainly worth your time!

8. Sleepless In Seattle

Speaking of classics, it doesn’t get any better than this sweet, heart-warming film about a widower whose determined young son wants him to have love and happiness once again. Jonah calls into a late-night talk radio show and convinces his dad to speak to the host. A woman across the country, Annie, falls in love with Sam even though she has never seen or met him. She sends a letter to Sam, asking him to meet her at the top of the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day. Jonah finds the letter and takes the situation into his own hands to help his dad get his happy ending!

9. The Ugly Truth

Perhaps some of the best romantic comedies are the ones where older characters are successful in their careers but struggle like the rest of us in finding a partner. Abby is forced to work as Mike’s producer and needless to say, these two strong-minded individuals butt heads continuously. Eventually, Mike offers dating advice so Abby can get the surgeon she has her eye on, and together, they help her improve her love life. But what will happen when he watches her get the guy and realizes he might have feelings for her?

10. How Do You Know

Any movie with Reese Witherspoon is sure to be a hit and this romantic comedy is no exception! When Lisa learns she didn’t make the cut for the team roster, she feels lost and out of place even among her friends. She gets the original intended recipient of the messages involved to keep up the charade until it falls to pieces.
