As disheartening as that is there are companies that not only support the LGBTQ+ community but they are also very vocal about it. Below is a list of brands to support when looking for pride gear this year or in general.

1. Levi

Levi is a brand that proudly supports the LGBTQ+ community. Over the past few years they have partnered with a variety of campaigns that strive to better and help the LGBTQ+ community. For instance a few years back they came out with a shirt that on the back told the history of the gay rights movement right up to the equality in marriage. On the front it pays homage to the late Harvey Milk, who was a pioneering politician who was openly gay in San Fransisco. Sadly Milk was gunned down by a colleague but despite that his legacy lives on and brands like Levi makes sure he isn’t forgotten through their supportive pride gear. Target has faced backlash for their blatant display of support for the LGBTQ+ community through campaigns and pride gear. As if you needed another excuse to love your iPhone or MacBook Apple is a company that happily supports the LGBTQ+ community. This company has actively spoken out against legislation that threatens the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. They have faced backlash from customers who do have opposing views but even then Apple is a company that recognizes everyone, no matter of sexual orientation, deserves rights, Apple is also a company that employs many people from the LGBTQ+ community and continue to contribute through pride gear.

The GAP may not be the first brand you think about when you think about LGBTQ+ rights but The Gap is a company that employs several people from the community. They proudly stand behind their employs who want and deserve equal rights, treatment and respect.

Nike is a company that isn’t afraid to be controversial. Nike has stood behind a variety of athletes who face backlash from their political views, which are views that align with Nike’s own mentality. They stand proudly behind athletes who support the Black Lives Matter movement and it’s no surprise that they also support the LGBTQ+ community as well. In 2017 they came out with a collection of shoes that boasted the proud rainbow colors making for some excellent pride gear.
