8 Awkward Things That Happen On Group Dates

8 Signs That He's Not That Into You

Lets face it, the more different personalities in a room the more mix-ups, mis-haps, or even fractures can occur. If you’ve ever been on a group date or at least seen a group of people that appear to be in couples out with each other, then I’m sure you’ve witnessed some of these odd happenings. Group dates are fun and probably just because something like these always goes down. Here’s 8 awkward things that can happen on group dates!

The Disagreement

Ever been on a group and your peoples can’t agree on what to do? You don’t want to be petty and split the whole group apart, but you also don’t want to end up having an unfun evening doing something you can’t stand. An awkward thing that can happen on a group date, especially if it’s a group of casual friend couples that hang out all the time, is a mixup about who wants to do what, and no one can seem to agree.

But I Love You

Ever been on a group date where you actually know and have feelings for someone who’s there and is not your date? Yeah that’s gotta be pretty awkward. What do you do, just spend the whole evening trying not to make eye contact, or do you make up an excuse to run and leave the whole crowd feeling even more awkward than you did. Oh the love triangles of life. Gotta love em.

Way Too Drunk

Ever been the too drunk one in the group? This is not appealing. The whole rest of the group pretty much has to spend the evening taking care of you. Lol. It’s really awkward. Try not to get too wasted and hit on the wrong person in your group, or pick fights. You’re going to spoil the festivities! 😆

We Lost Him

Thank God for cell phones, right? If you’re the one who gets lost on the date then you’re probably the one who’s feeling the most awkward. Don’t act like this can’t happen. If you’re on a group date in the City or someplace crowded, you can easily get separated. Then you’re all panic texting and calling like “what do you see around you?!” Cue Marshmello – Alone. “Trying to find my way back home to you…” 😢😩😆

You Ate My Fries

This might seem petty, but some people are serious about their food, so it can definitely happen. Picture being at the restaurant with a group of people and someone decides they wanna taste what’s on your plate without asking. If you’re a finicky eater and don’t like anyone in your food, you’ll probably trip out. This will definitely make the group date awkward, as everyone will spend the rest of the evening remembering how you barked on someone for taking a bite of your chicken or slurping an alfredo noodle off your plate… Dude. Ew.

I Forgot My Wallet

If you forget your wallet you better go back home and get it! Nah I’m just kidding. What are friends for? Lol. If you’re on a group date and can’t pay, be prepared to feel awkward the whole rest of the day. Really, it’s not going to let up. Good luck with that, cheapo.

The Classic Fart In Public

It’s one thing if you’re alone with your S.O. who you’ve know for years and you fart and make a joke about it. Maybe blame it on someone else nearby. But it’s a whole other thing if you’re out on a group date and you let one rip. Everyone will either be trying to pretend like it didn’t happen, or they’ll awkwardly accuse you for it the rest of the evening. Do yourself a favor and try to hold it in.

Leaving To Hookup

This is borderline awkward and applauded. If you’re on a group date and you and your partner are ready to hit road to release, how do you go about saying this without splitting the whole group? I mean it’s gonna be pretty obvious that you’re leaving to hookup so there’s no hiding it. How do you make this un-awkward??

Group dates are definitely fun. I guess it’s a matter of manners to keep them from being awkward. Let me know in the comments what crazy things have happened on your group dates.
