Amazon Prime is such a helpful app/website especially since students can get Prime free for 6 Months and it ships in 2 days for no addition charge! The Prime Pantry is a great tool to get breakfast and dinner meals and snacks. These are great if you need to eat before heading to class, need something to munch on in between class, or for dinner meals when all the dinning halls are closed. Here are 20 Amazon Prime food items every college student needs to order!!
1. Nutri-Grain bars
My favorite flavor is the apple cinnamon bars, but the strawberry, mix berry and blueberry are also good choices. You can eat these as you walk to class and if you are in class, they don’t make a lot of noise while you open them.
2. Breakfast Essentials
There are several flavors of Breakfast Essentials to try; strawberry, chocolate (dark and milk), and vanilla. Some are bottled and this is a great thing to drink on your way to class or if you’re the gym type of person, it’s a great thing to drink after a hard workout.
3. Quaker Oat bowls
For those that actually get up on time to make a breakfast, oatmeal bowls are a great food to have. Apple cinnamon is my go to and there are other flavors such as blueberry, peaches, and cinnamon pecan.
Lunch and dinner items
4. Rice bowls
Sometimes I grab an entree, but don’t like the sides. A rice bowl is great to pair with chicken, turkey, sausage and steak. It helps save meal plan money too.
5. Microwaveable dinners
Homel has 2 microwaveable dinners; chicken and mashed potatoes and steak and mashed potatoes. The meal heats up in a minute and is very easy to store.
6. Kraft bowls
Kraft bowls are my go to item. You can add so much to make it it’s own meal such as lunch meat, chicken tenders, steak, or imitation crab meat and shrimp. Since it’s so small, you can heat it up and take it to class. It’s also more filling than Ramen.
7. Instant soup bowls
When it’s really cold out I love to wrap up in my blankets with a warm bowl of soup and watch Netflix. If I want soup as a meal, I go with Campbell’s chunky soup like Jazzy Jambalaya, or Steak and Potato. When you’re feeling sick sick Campbell’s Chicken Noodle, or Progesso’s Chicken and Herb Dumpling always help. The chicken pot pie is one of my favorites!
8. Chocolate chip cookies
I’m a chewy cookie type of person, so Chips Ahoy Chewy is my defeat. For those that don’t share the same love for the Chewy cookies there’s original to in the family size. Also, at my school I don’t think they sell these at the dinning halls.
9. Wavy chips
Lays wavy chips are the bomb. They don’t sell them in small individual bags and they’ll last for at-least a week if you don’t share. Original is not the only flavor, BBQ is my go-to choice.
10. Boomchickapop popcorn
Popcorn is always an essential, especially for Netflix and chill. Boomchickapop is the greatest ever. For those that don’t know, the kettle corn is the bomb.
Pop-tarts not only double as breakfast, but is like go-go juice for last minuet paper writers. It’s loaded with sugar, which is great when no coffee shops are open. Strawberry and brown sugar cinnamon are classics and you can never go wrong with s’mores.
12. Rice Krispy Treats
Eat it as a snack, eat it for breakfast, or eat it as dessert for dinner (no judgments). You can get them in chocolate and chocolate with m&m minis…so good.
It’s great as a mini pick-me-up or a small reward for getting your homework done. If you’re in the sharing mood, they are easy to distribute.
Mints are great to have when you’re studying. The life saver mint comes in a huge 2 pound bag that should last you the entire semester.
Slim Jim’s are my guilty pleasure. It’s a great snack and it fits in my pencil pouch. You can eat them in class, but just a heads up, your breath doesn’t smell the best, so when I eat them I always eat a mint afterwards.
16. Fruit snacks
Packed with sugar and the perfect bite size, fruit snacks are great for a very quick breakfast, snack on the way to class, or a midnight snack break. You can never go wrong with Scooby-Doo pack.
17. Fruit cups
Not only is it a healthy snack option, but they have juice in them that is yummy. It fits in your bag and if you really want to, you can eat them while you walk to class. Dole is the brand to go with because they have so many flavors such as pineapple, pear, tropical, and ones with jello in them.
18. Juice boxes
Sometimes the inner child needs to come out. These juice boxes are small and fit into your book-bag if you don’t want to buy drinks out. Adam and Eve has a mixed package of juices including apple and mixed berry.
19. Starbucks coffee
Let’s be honest, as college students all nighters are common and caffeine is a need. There are several Starbucks drinks and the double shot espresso is the way to go.
Water is boring and buying it on campus is very expensive. Pepsi and Coke have the most products in 12 count packs.
