Statistically the fitness industry marginalizes and excludes the black community which is why it’s so important as a consumer to invest and support these brands. Roam Loud was founded by Toyin Omisore’s who set out to place women of color at the forefront of her brand and she did exactly that. Her premium activewear was inspired and influenced by her Liberin grandmother. Although she never met her grandmother, she wanted to incorporate her strength and resilience because “She embodied the essence of Roam Loud so it was a perfect marriage for it to be illustrated through athleisure and activewear.”
