Welcome to Spiffy High, home of the Raiders. See what it's like to live in our towns and attend the ever eventful Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

Welcome to Spiffy High, home of the Raiders. Where soccer is life, theatre is lit and Mrs. Yvonne is the only law enforcement we need. Whether you graduated in 2000 or you will be graduating in June, I am sure you can relate to all of these. See what it’s like to live in our towns and attend the ever eventful Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

1. People always ask why its called Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School?

We get it, it’s confusing…most schools are named after one town or a person.

2. You have to constantly explain how we’re the same, but we’re different. Only we seem to get this.

One is a township, one is a borough. We’re the same..but we’re different. Come on, it’s not that hard.

3. What is back to school without The Italian Festival?

The Italian Festival at St. Barts, ahh the memories. Great food and great fun. The perfect ending to summer and the perfect beginning to a new school year.

4. Terrill Middle School vs. Park Middle School was the biggest beef of your childhood.

From 5th to 8th grade we all had an unspoken beef with each other. However, magically in September of our freshman year, we all put our differences aside and became friends.

5. When your “downtown” area consists of three streets. Hey Park Ave, Front Street and East Second 😉

I guess it’s better than nothing!

6. You either live on the Route 22 side, Westfield side, Plainfield side or Clark side of town.

This actually matters to us!

7. Quick Check vs 7/11 was (is) a real debate.

You were bound to stop at one on the way home.

8. Our towns know pizza is life! Which is why we all live by at least 5 pizzerias.

We always hit up our faves after school.

9.  The Senior Parking lot was the equivalent of an after hours spot.

You were square, if you weren’t there. And you didn’t have to have a car to chill there after school.

10. RAIDER NATION: Telling us high school sports is taken too seriously is (extremely) offensive!

11. If having one high school in our town wasn’t good enough for you, jokes on you! We’ve got 7!

Union County Magnet High School, Academy For Allied Health Sciences,  Academy For Information Technology, Union County Tech, Academy For Performing Arts, Union Catholic Regional High School and the greatest of them all (drumroll please) Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

12. You skipped class to chill in the library!

Most students skip class and leave school. We skipped class and chilled in the library.

13. The Bar and Bat Mitvah’s were waayyyy litter than any high school party could ever be.

I’m still waiting to go to a party that lit!

14. You couldn’t wait to turn 18 so you could sign yourself in late and sign yourself out early.

Forget getting a license, this is how we knew we were adulting.

15. Fanwood Bagel or Dunkin’ Donuts was a daily destination before class.

Car troubles resulted in the need for a late pass, but somehow breakfast didn’t?

16. You’ve had the same group of friends since elementary school…and nothing is more valuable than that.

17. You probably went to a state college/university.

18. Diner is life…

What’s good Scotchwood? We love our diners and definitely venture out of town for them too.

19. Mrs. Yvonne is the only law enforcement we need!

I mean look, we even had a mural of her!

20. School is/was our home away from home!

Our campus community is great! From the faculty, staff and students to the Scotch Plains-Fanwood community as a whole. You’re lucky if you get the chance to attend Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.
