Ultimate Ranking of Mississippi State Dorms

Mississippi State is home to 17 residential buildings and over 5,000 students living on campus. The dorms are beautiful, and most of them were built in the last 10 years. Mississippi State is more than just a beautiful campus, it offers comfortable dormitories to live in, as well! But it’s a little confusing to know everything about all of the residences, especially if you’re a new student! Keep reading for the ultimate ranking of Mississippi State dorms, and learn everything you need to know!

1. Deavenport

Deavenport, formally known as Azalea, is one of the newly constructed dorms on campus. It offers private baths, individual room temperature control, kitchens on every hall, and much more. It is number one purely based on the fact that it is the newest building.

2. Dogwood

Like Deavenport, Dogwood is newly constructed. It has the same amenities as Deavenport. It is second because one of them had to be.

3. Moseley

Moseley is a New Construction dorm. It has four floors which house both males and females. It is located in the South Zone of campus.

4. Griffis

Griffis is a New Construction dormitory. It has four floors and is co-residential. Griffis is part of the Zacharias Village located in the north side of campus. Griffis is also the home to the Honors College students.

5. Oak

Oak is a New Construction dorm with four floors. It is located in the South Zone of campus, and it is co-residential for freshman and upperclassman.

 

6. Nunnellee

Nunnellee Hall is a New Construction dorm with three floors. It is a co-residential dorm with amenities such as private baths and kitchens on each floor. Nunnelee, formerly North, is also a part of the Zacharias Village and the Honors College.

7. Hurst

Hurst Hall has three floors that house both male an female students. It is also a part of Zacharias Village near Griffis, Nunnelee, and Ruby in the North Zone of campus.

8. Magnolia

Magnolia Hall is a New Construction dormitory in the South Zone of campus. It houses 382 residents, both male and female.

9. Ruby

Ruby Hall is a co-residential, New Contruction dormitory located in Zacharias Village in the North Zone of campus. It has three floors and houses 400 residents.

10. Hathorn

Hathorn Hall is a traditional style dorm that houses only females. This hall is mostly used for sorority Living and Learning Communities. It has five floors and houses 274 residents.

11. Cresswell

Cresswell Hall is a traditional style dormitory located on the south side of campus. It is co-residential and has five floors that house 300 residents.

12. McKee

McKee Hall is in the Central Zone of campus and is an all male dormitory. It has four floors that house 256 residents.

13. Herbert

Herbert Hall is a traditional style dormitory that has 3 floors and houses 120 residents. This hall is co-residential and is in the Central Zone of campus.

14. Hull

Hull Hall is in the center of campus and is co-residential. It has three floors that house 290 residents.

15. Critz

Critz Hall is in the North Zone of campus and is home to only male students. It has three floors and houses 216 residents.

 

16. Sessums

Sessums Hall is in the center of campus and is home to only female students. It has four floors that house 254 students.

17. Rice

Rice Hall is considered the worst hall on campus, but it’s not so bad. Compared to Deavenport and all the rest of the halls, Rice come in last with its traditional style and limited amenities. Though I have to give it credit for being the largest dorm on campus with five floors that house 511 students. It is a co-residential dormitory locates in the South Zone on campus.
