With plenty of woodland and streams that flow throughout, there’s plenty of adventure involved if you love hiking and keeping active and have a need to explore. Just down the road sits miles of coastline and sandy beaches home to Bamburgh Castle and the infamous Seahouses. Boat trips are available to go seal and puffin spotting as well as admiring the local history of Bamburgh castle which sits at the edge of a beautiful cliff and sandy beach. A few miles down the road, if you’re wanting to branch out a little more, sits Alnwick Castle, which is where the first Harry Potter film was filmed! There’s so much to see here and would make a great getaway this summer!
8. Edinburgh Zoo and City Sightseeing
Edinburgh has become a tourist hotspot in the UK, being one of the country’s most popular northern cities to escape to. The city may look small, but there are plenty of adventures to be unlocked and new things to be learned. Packed with history and surrounded by beautiful valley’s and lakes, the Scottish city is home to the best of both worlds being rural and having a historical cityscape. There are plenty of places to dine and shop, with the city’s famous Ferris wheel that sits right in the centre boasting plenty of views for photographs. Edinburgh castle is bejewelled with history and is one of the most stunning landmarks in the city.
