Home Interior Design Trends For This Year

With another New Year in full swing, means another set of trends for the year. In particular, in the world of Interior Design and style. Decorating and designing your home can be difficult if you’re not an expert. With endless colour palettes and shades, tons of furniture styles to pick from, and hundreds of home accessories to choose from, deciding on anything Interior design based can be super overwhelming. With that being said, here we’ll list off the Home Interior Design trends for the year which you must check out.

Copper Accents/ Interior

Copper Interior is very on trend this year – it’s making a comeback into every single room of your home – from the Kitchen to the Living room. You don’t have to over-do-it with the copper, you can simply have it on every-day-use home items such as kitchen bowls and plates, and living room lamps/shades. The copper vibe adds a pop of shine to your home and makes it look that extra bit special.

Mustard And Grey Interior

Incorporating the colours mustard and grey into your home is a must-do for this year. The contrast of dark and light colours combined makes for a unique and beautiful mixture. Buying something as simple as mustard and grey pillows will give your space this cool and chic look instantly. This colour scheme looks particularly good in your workspace area or your bedroom.

Drinking Jars / Glasses

Drinking Jars are a small but really decorative way of adding a bit more thought into your home interior. The simple classic clear jar with an initial on it is the look for this year. They’re especially great to use for summer drinking parties when you’re making a beautiful looking drink – very Instagram worthy.

Geometric Patterns

Geometric patterns are where it’s at in 2019 – they’re bold and great if you like striking patterns and designs. This year will be all about bolder colours with oversized patterns to make a bold statement in your home. A simple way to add this look into your home is by adding geometric rugs and pillows. These patterns look super beautiful against wooden floors or even make for a great wallpaper pattern if you’re feeling adventurous. An otherwise plain looking sofa looks that extra bit decorative if you have some geometric pillows and throws incorporated into the mix.

Millennial Pink

This beautiful shade of pink is already super popular, but its now on a new level. This trendy colour is already big in fashion and nail art, but now it’s a big colour within home design too. It’s a warm colour that can be incorporated into your home in creative and different ways such as wallpaper colour, or even just on a pillow or chair. It looks great against dark colours for contrast, but also looks just as good with the classic colour white. Millennial pink was also a super popular colour in 2018, but we expect to see this hue soar to new heights in popularity in 2019. Plants and flowers look particularly beautiful up against this shade of pink and truly bring out the femininity of this colour in a pop.

Velvet Furnishings

Velvet furnishings are back in style this year and is being redefined as luxurious and cool from its former ‘old-fashioned’ look perspective. Velvet looks especially tasteful on home items such pillows, floor cushions and footstools. Burgundy velvet looks stunning on bedroom pillows and a blue velvet footstool makes for a relaxed look in your workspace area. Velvet also looks beautiful on tufted chairs, armchairs and most designs and styles of couches and sofas. It’s a plush material which feels super comfortable and cosy, so make the most of this texture in your home where you can.
