Flattering Outfit Ideas For Girls With Bigger Busts

Do you have a bigger bust and are unsure what kind of outfits suit you? Try these flattering outfit ideas to celebrate your body!

Despite being told that having a bigger bust is sexy, many of us often feel anything but as we try to find that perfect outfit to flatter our figures. As a 32F, I find it difficult to dress for my figure, especially as I’m only a UK dress size 8-10. Whatever your proportions are, you deserve to feel confident and stylish with your outfit choices, and having a bigger bust shouldn’t stop you! Here are a few flattering outfit ideas for us girls with bigger busts.

1. Wrap it around

The wraparound style is one of the most perfect flattering outfit ideas. It drapes around your figure and hugs your natural curves as you tie it off. It’s loose and comfortable while also lightly clinging to your body. The tie or bow feature shows off your waist and subtracts some attention from your bust. Try this outfit as a dress or a top with some jeans or high-waisted trousers, again so the emphasis is on another area of your body while still making your cleavage look good without pushing it up at all.

2. Tight (but not too tight!)

Girls with bigger busts often believe that in order to flatter their figure and de-emphasise their chest, they need to completely hide under a shirt or sweater. In reality, this is probably making you look bigger than you are! If you have a bigger bust, a flattering outfit idea is to wear clothes that are fitted, rather than the loose, oversized look. That way, you avoid the ‘tent’ look. Bodysuits are great for highlighting your shape but still giving you the support you need. Remember of course to wear your size – wearing something too tight often pushes your boobs up and creates the ‘squished’ look in your cleavage. In terms of necklines, stick to V necks or scoop necklines so that your bust is flattered but not in everyone’s faces!

3. Vertical stripes

Vertical stripes have been a style staple for bigger busts for decades. They have the power to create a longer, slimmer looking frame. Stripes look good on any figure, any age and for any occasion. Vertical stripes are particularly flattering for ladies with bigger busts, not only because of their ability to flatter your figure but because the pattern takes focus over your cleavage. Sometimes horizontal stripes can make your chest look even bigger as the brain automatically follows the stripe. By choosing vertical, your figure is literally looked upon more up-and-down, therefore highlighting your whole figure rather than just your bust. Don’t be afraid to try different sized stripes, like our product example below – that’s another trick of the mind that makes you look slimmer. Stripes are also so trendy this season, so it’s a double winner!

4. Tuck it in

Another important way to flatter your curves and avoid the dreaded tent appearance is to tuck in your shirt. It’s flattering to wear form-fitting clothes, but you can still wear what you are comfortable in. If that’s looser, baggier clothes, then that’s okay! I often find that if I leave a shirt un-tucked, it just hangs down and makes me look utterly shapeless. Tucking it in will re-discover your waist and also flaunt your bust without having it on show, as the shirt will hide lumps or bumps you’re worried about. If you feel a little self-conscious about how you look from behind, leave the back of the shirt tucked out. Tucking in at the front is actually trendy, and makes your front look smaller! Another tip: if you want to emphasise your waist but don’t like the feeling of being tucked in, leave a couple of buttons undone and tie the front of the shirt in a knot. This also detracts attention from your cleavage.

5. Straight and Simple

The best possible tip you can use for flattering a bigger bust is to keep things straight and simple. Necklines, jacket lines, and designs should be long-line and devoid of distracting features such as ruffles, oversized jewelry and anything that clutters your cleavage. A scoop neckline with a long line blazer or cardigan takes the emphasis away from your bust and focuses instead on elongating your figure. It also looks really classy for any occasion, from a lunch date to a regular day at the office.
