DIY Exfoliating Lip Scrub To Help Those Dry Summer Lips

You suffer from dry and chapped lips? Here are DIY exfoliating lip scrubs to keep those dry summer lips hydrated. With these homemade lip scrub recipes, you will be able to save money and time.

Why You Need To Exfoliate Your Lips

You dream of having soft and smooth lips. Exfoliating them will prevent flaky lips and make lipstick and lip balm application better. But, don’t over-exfoliate! Use these scrubs only 3 or 4 times a week or you might make your lips even more dry and chapped than before.

DIY Lip Scrub Recipes

Cheap and as efficient as the lip scrubs you see in stores, these homemade lip scrub recipes will leave your lips feeling soft and smooth in an instant. You can inspire yourself from these recipes and create your own. Don’t forget to moisturize your lips after!

1. Brown sugar & honey scrub

  • 1 tablespoon of granulated brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)

2. Lemon lip scrub

This lip scrub will not only exfoliated your lip but also brighten them naturally.

  • 1 tablespoon of granulated white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)
  • 1 drop of lemon essential oil OR 1 teaspoon of freshly pressed lemon juice

3. Oatmeal lip scrub

Oatmeal is very useful to remove any trace of dirt, oil and impurity from your lips.

  • 1/2 cup of ground oats
  • 1/4 cup of granulated white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)

4. Honey & cinnamon lip scrub

  • 2 tablespoon of granulated brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon powder

5. Coffee lip scrub

Coffee grounds help exfoliate the dead skin cells from your lips. It is also great for dark pigmented skin because of its brightening properties.

  • 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds
  • 1/4 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, sweet almond, etc…)

6. Strawberry lip scrub

This strawberry lip scrub will leave your lips soft and pink.

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)
  • 1 strawberry
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

7. Orange peel lip scrub

Orange peel is also a great brightening ingredient. It is ideal to treat discolored or hyper-pigmented lips naturally.

  • 1 tablespoon of dried orange peel powder OR 1 drop of orange essential oil
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)

8. Chocolate scrub

Exfoliate your lips while giving yourself a sweet treat.

  • 3 tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, ect…)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract to make it extra delicious
  • 1 drizzle of honey

9. Mint & peppermint lip scrub

A lip scrub that will give your lips a fresh and minty scent.

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)
  • 1 drop of peppermint essential oil

10. Lip balm exfoliator

  • 1 tube lip balm to moisturize your lip
  • 2 teaspoon of granulated white sugar to exfoliate
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil of your choice (coconut, jojoba, grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc…)
