Want to know the best perfumes of all time? Here are the most amazing scents created... thus far. Which signature scent is your favourite?

Here’s a list of literally, the best perfumes of all time. Everyone has their favourite or go-to perfume. Some like floral tones, others like musky and some people prefer a sweeter scent. Whatever your choice the perfume industry has dedicated plenty of time to provide an extensive variety, from high-end luxury brands to own brand shops there is an abundance to choose from.  But what exactly are some of the best perfumes of all time? Some like to stick to what they know and others might venture into new smells but some perfumes have stood the test of time and renowned themselves as timeless. Check out this list ranking the best perfumes of all time!

1. Chanel No.5

Now I know you were expecting this one, who doesn’t wish they could afford this? Obviously this makes the list of the best perfumes of all time. Made famous by Marilyn Monroe back in 1921 who claimed she wore nothing else to bed but this perfume. A perfume with connotations of glamour, decadence, and luxury this one has (and probably will be) on my wishlist forever!

2. Lancome La Vie Est Belle

Still, a very young perfume in comparison to many on this list, Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle has quickly become a statement scent and is here to stay. This is my personal favourite and like many others, it has earned itself a position in many perfume collections and will always be a repeat purchase!

3. Dior J’Adore

Launched in 1999 Dior’s J’Adore has remained a timeless staple of any woman’s vanity desk. The fresh and floral scent has been a big hit from the luxury fashion house and continues to be a bestseller. Although a little on the pricey side, you get what you pay for and you’ll always have people asking what perfume you have on with this classic scent.

4. Yves St Laurent Opium

You might have seen this cult classic come back time and time again recently with a different look, style, or scent but this is the original launched back in 1977. Although made illegal in several countries due to the scandal surrounding the advertisement of the perfume its here to stay after all this time.

5. CK One

Admittedly this is one everyone has had (I still do!) a unisex scent it really does suit everyone. I find that it wears better than it goes on the first time but it’s still one of my go-to fragrances. Launched way back in 1994 as the first unisex perfume it’s still doing well with its light and fresh fragrance.

6. Paco Rabanne Lady Million

The partner to Paco Rabanne’s hugely successful and popular Million is still just as iconic. With floral notes and a strong feminine blend has helped this fragrance become popular amongst the many and no doubt will it continue to be a cult classic.

7. Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey

A scent inspired by water, this light perfume is perfect for everyday wear. It quickly became Issey Miyake’s iconic product when it was launched in 1992. The simple yet artistic design of the bottle makes it just the piece or your ever-growing collection of bottles on your vanity.

8. Tom Ford Black Orchid

Were throwing it right back to Tom Ford’s first fragrance. This luxurious scent perfectly reflects the elegance and luxury of Tom Ford’s brand. It is clear that nothing has changed from the very beginning and his company has only gone from strength to strength since this number was released!

9. Charlie Blue

Surprise! I bet you didn’t think that this golden oldie would be on here? Created way back in the 70’s was considered the first of its kind and widely seen as the first ‘feminist fragrance’.

10. Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Girl

The one that started it all, Tommy Girl was the brand’s debut fragrance that helped establish its loyal customers. The popular scent of wood, marine, and floral notes were a hit back then and are still a hit now!
