2. The Caring professor
This professor will show that they really care about their students. They want you to be successful and are willing to help you along the way. They understand that life happens and are willing to be a listening ear with some of your troubles. This is the type of professor that will bring in snacks to class as an award for good exam scores or just because they know you are a poor college student living off of ramen. This is the type of professor that will bring you donuts and juice because they felt so terrible for canceling class one week. They may even throw a class party just to have fun. Do not bother going to this professor’s office hours because they will just send you towards one of the TA’s. You can tell that all they care about is their research or that they are just teaching this subject because it is a job not a passion. This professor will be the one you go to for career advice, connections, and opportunities. They are dripping with experience. They know all the tips you need for your future career. At first this professor may seem intimidating because of how wise and experienced in their field they are. Eventually they will be purely inspiring to you. You will most likely look up to them and maybe even see them as a role model. Make sure to get to know these professors because they are an excellent source for your future career.
