Top 5 Winter Destinations to Visit During the Holidays

Many winter destinations are perfect for visiting in the holidays! Below are 5 Winter Destinations that reflect the wonders of the season.

1. New York City

It is a no-brainer that this city is on this list. Plenty of holiday movies have been filmed here. Lot’s of Christmas trees have been implanted here, and this is the place where the huge ball drops at Times Square when the clock strikes twelve! This is one of the most iconic metropolitan centers of the world. Plenty of people from different parts of the planet dream of being able to visit this wonderful and chaotic place!

When I visited this city for the first time, it was around Christmas time. The snow recently started to fall and all of the sudden a got a White Christmas. I went to the top of the Empire State building and got to see a great view of the Big Apple while the flurries were still in full effect. The view was unreal! I also took a walk around central park. It felt like I was at the North Pole walking around the mini snow-covered forest!

The City also does not mess around when it comes to decorating for the season. You would see Christmas decorations everywhere. You would especially see the biggest Christmas trees ever made.

2. Orlando

Although there is usually no snow cover in Florida, it is always nice to go somewhere warmer in the States. Many people come from the North just to be able to take a break from the extreme cold. And as a person who lived in Florida most of his life, I would prefer to see snow as I rarely get to see it. But we’d welcome anyone!

The reason why Orlando is specifically on the list is because of all the different attractions that cater to the holidays. The theme parks especially go all out with their Christmas themes. Disney World hosts many Christmas events throughout its parks. It also houses Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, A late-night Christmas event at the Magic Kingdom that is extremely popular. EPCOT also hosts Christmas around the world. An event where each of its country pavilions displays how different holidays are celebrated in different parts of the world.

Orlando, therefore, gives you a chance to avoid the freezing cold temperatures. And on top of that, you get to hang out with Mickey Mouse and attend world-class attractions. There is definitely no place like Orlando when it comes to entertainment!

3. Denver

If you want a more daring and bold adventure. Denver will offer you the best mountain ranges where you can enjoy the holidays and ski to your heart’s desire! Denver is located right next to the rocky mountains, one of the highest mountain ranges in the Americas. This gives the city the advantage of making it fun and wild.

There are multiple ski resorts and national parks available during the wintertime. You can take a wild ride down the mountain slope, drink hot chocolate at the mountaintop, and take a selfie with the entire view of Denver in the background. This massive mountain range gives people many options and activities to choose from.

There are also many things to do in the city of Denver. The snow falls make a picturesque scene against the skyscrapers. Giving you an experience similar to that of New York’s. The big difference is that the snow-capped mountains in the distance make the city even prettier than before. I personally love Denver and what it offers. And sometimes makes me feel like I am in the alps while remaining in the US.

4. Mexico City

This Winter Destination may sound like an unusual place to add to the list but as a person of Mexican heritage, this place has a special place in my heart. This gorgeous and underrated city becomes a marvel to look at during the holiday season.

Mexico City is a very unique city as it is nestled in a valley between mountain ranges. There are two snowcapped active volcanoes outside of the city. You can see them perfectly from the distance like two Mount Fujis in a city that is almost as big as Tokyo. Oh and speaking of scale, this city is even bigger than New York, LA, and Chicago. In fact, it is the second biggest city in all of the Americas!

Christmas in Mexico is celebrated differently compared to the U.S. In this city, you would get the chance to taste different flavors you haven’t met before. The decorations might also look different, and you would not see Santa Claus as often since they get more biblical over there.

5. Paris

I am sorry but I really have to add the most picturesque city of them all! Like New York, this city has appeared in endless movies, tv shows, Hallmark cards, etc. There is a really good reason why this city is so popular! It is even home to my favorite Adele music video. It was for her song, Someone Like You, and it displays a single shot of her walking down the street of the city with the Eiffel Tower in the background! Magnifique!

The Eiffel Tower lights up gorgeously during the holidays. They surround it with endless holiday architecture and other gorgeous sites to buttress it. There are also many holiday markets open around this time where people get to taste test all different kinds of holiday foods. There are even dishes that you get to try from around the world.

Paris becomes especially special when the snow starts to fall. You really get to see how picturesque everything is. And as a European city, you would feel like you are in a fairy tale! This is a one-of-a-kind city, and I truly feel like people must visit this place at least once in their lifetime. And believe it or not, I haven’t been here yet but I still know the importance of attending!
