12 Things You Understand If You Grew Up In Newton Falls, Ohio

If you’re not from Newton Falls, Ohio, it’s likely you’ve never even heard of it let alone understand all the things only people who grew up there are familiar with. Read on to relate to the 12 things you would only understand if you grew up in Newton Falls, Ohio.

It was the only place to get pictures done for any occasion.

2. You run into everyone you know.

You fully expect to run into multiple people you know when you’re going to the grocery store, post office, gas station, or anywhere in public.

3. The zip code.

The number of crazy looks people give you when you tell them our zip code is 44444.

4. There’s no escaping Newton Falls.

People who grow up in Newton Falls, Ohio go away to college and return to Newton Falls and grow their own families there.

5. Always expect a drive.

To go anywhere outside of Newton Falls, Ohio, it’s a 20-30-minute drive to the nearest movie theater, Starbucks, mall, or anything worthwhile.

6. Adventures

At 2 in the morning, you and your friends would be adventuring out to Walmart or the Truck Stop while singing from the top of your lungs to throwbacks.

7. You know everything about everyone and they know everything about you.

You know everybody, everybody’s families, everybody’s business and what’s going on. Your neighbors nephews step-son had a child- trust me, you’ll hear about it.

8. Nothing beats the 4th of July.

Our 4th of July Festivities are the best around. The center of town is packed with people from local cities and counties. Nobody does it better than us. From the car show, to bike show, to the carnival, to the fireworks, it’s the best time.

9. Sam’s Pizza Shop

This is a family owned pizza shop that has been around since 1958. Only the best pizza, wings, cheese sticks around. Oh, and I cannot forget about the ranch.

10. High School graduation unlike anyone else’s.

Even if you didn’t want to know everybody, you still knew every single person you graduated with.

11. 1985 tornado.

The F5 tornado that hit Newton Falls, Ohio in 1985 and the damage it did to the community.

12. What is Newton Falls?

No one from out of town recognizes the name of Newton Falls, Ohio so it becomes very frustrating to explain where it is, what it’s by and how to get there.
