We’ve all been there: wanting to go out with friends, but you have to make sure you have enough in your bank account. When you do check, you realize that you only have $8 dollars left. You’re left asking yourself “should I just blow it all tonight?”. Instead of doing that, here are 10 things to do when broke.
That money could come to good use someday; maybe put it into your savings account to add on for later.
Do you really need the colorful pack of pens? Put it down and pick up some necessities, like laundry detergent or deodorant. Wouldn’t you like to smell good before writing like the unicorn that you are?
It’s sad, sure, but binging will have to wait until you’re able to pay that monthly fee. Maybe borrow a friend or family member’s username and password so you won’t miss out.
Hard, I know, but think about it: wouldn’t you at least like to have 8 dollars in your bank account rather than a venti frappe?
Store fronts are tempting: they want to lure you in with beautifully dressed mannequins and even prettier shoes. Sure, it may be hard to find something less than 10 dollars in some clothing stores, but you’ll find a way. You always do.
Imagine it: you’re sitting around in your dorm room and you open up Amazon, scrolling through the countless products you know you don’t need, but you want. Then BAM, you accidentally purchase a 4 back of green tea candy. Delete any apps that would tempt you to accidentally purchase useless but cute things.
Maybe check out places that are hiring. Having a job will help with the daily coffee runs and an extremely large amount of snacking.
Your #squad can hang out in your dorm and watch TV, maybe a cheesy movie, instead of blowing it all at a restaurant.
Whenever cash comes your way, save a small amount of it, allowing it to build up over an amount of time.
Sure you only have 8 dollars, but things could be worse. You could have 4 bucks …Or 4 cents. Take a breather and feel like a boss with your 8 bucks.
