5 Things To Do Around Providence When You’re Broke AF

Are you a Johnson and Wales student and have less than $10 in your bank account? If so, you have come to the right place. JWU is located right in Providence where there’s plenty of budget-friendly fun to be had! Check out these options for when you need some low-cost activities.

1. Workout at Providence Place.

The Providence Place mall never closes, so you can run around all you want, whether it’s up and down the escalators or past your favorite stores you can’t afford. Not only will you get a great workout, but you will also learn more about all the stores you can navigate later when you’re rich and successful.

2. Attend an event at WaterFire.

The WaterFire in Providence hosts amazing events you can attend with your friends and even family. The scenery is mesmerizing, lively, and totally perfect for exploring local vendors and food opportunities.

3. Visit the RISD Museum.

If you’re a lover of art and don’t want to break the bank, the RISD Museum has free admission every third Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can now admire art without paying a cent.

4. Join Tinder.

Although it may sound desperate (no offense), Tinder is the perfect way to find people around you that are looking for the same thing as you. If you’re hesitant, grab some friends and start swiping on Tinder Social to mingle with other squads.

5. Dance the night away at a club.

Do you like taking cute pictures with your friends, dancing, and meeting new people? Then you should definitely check out the local clubs that are minutes away from campus. Most clubs and bars have free nights for those who are 18+ if you dress up a certain way or come in before a certain time. If you ever want to get your groove on for free this is totally for you.
