5 Themes To Decorate Your Christmas Tree In

When decorating your home for the holidays, it helps to find a theme for all of your decorations to revolve around. And what is the main decoration at Christmas time? That’s right, the Christmas tree. Real or fake, snow-covered or not, the Christmas tree is the main piece for all of December, Christmas day especially. If you live in a dorm or apartment, you can take inspiration from some of these 5 themes. Or when you’re going home for the holidays you can show some of these ideas to your family when it comes time to decorate the family Christmas tree. From classic Christmas tree themes to fun ones, these five themes to decorate your Christmas tree in are sure to bring yuletide cheer to you and your roommates, friends, or family.

Classic Christmas Tree

You really can’t go wrong with the Classic Christmas tree theme. By this we mean the color red being sort of the main highlight of the tree. Red ornaments fill the tree, a ribbon wrapped delicately, yellow lights twinkling, gold accents filling the gaps, and white star ornaments adding a simplistic touch to your tree. If you’re a fan of traditional Christmas decorations, this Christmas tree inspiration should be easy to bring to life. Plenty of stores carry the perfect ornaments, ribbon, lights, and tree toppers to fulfill the image you have of your ideal Christmas tree. Taking inspiration from this picture below, your very own tree can look just as good as this one and all of those ones in Hallmark Christmas movies that seem to be decorated in the utmost perfect way. Just like in Elf when Buddy is looking for the best and biggest Christmas tree, the tree that you decorate will be sure to meet his expectations.

A White Christmas

We’re dreaming of a white Christmas, aren’t you? After last year’s fiasco of a Christmas where holidays were hard to spend with family and the gloom of the pandemic hung over what was meant to be a cheery Christmas season, we’re looking for real holiday magic this time around. A dreamy white Christmas hopefully with a few inches of snow to play in should bring plenty of fun holiday memories. What better way to dress your Christmas tree in than an all white look to embrace the cold weather that comes with the holiday and manifest waking up to a snow-covered yard on Christmas morning. Yellow twinkling lights, white ribbon, and silver ornaments to deck out a white, snowy Christmas tree will pull together a classy, elegant, and sophisticated Christmas theme in your home. The beauty of the tree, and, of course, the gifts stacked below the tree, the Christmas tree will be the center of everyone’s attention leading up to Christmas day.

Rose Gold & Pink

The next Christmas tree theme you can decorate yours in is this pretty in pink style. Different from the others as that it would not normally be an immediate choice for many, but is still a beautiful way to decorate this year’s Christmas tree. A green Christmas tree with a snowy trim complete with ornaments that are pink and rose gold, ones that glittery, shimmery, shiny, and pearlescent. For a feminine home, this Christmas tree theme is sure to show off your great design skills. Find other Christmas decorations to match and to fill your home with and hang up pink and yellow Christmas lights outdoors to go all out in this rose gold and pink theme. Will you go as far as finding pink and rose gold wrapping paper to wrap up Christmas gifts to place under the rose gold and pink themed tree?

Blue, Green & Woodsy

An untraditional theme to decorate your Christmas tree in is this blue, green, and woodsy style. We imagine this tree to be filled with that cinnamon pine scent that is often affiliated with Christmas time foliage. We love the way that the tree is decorated in the picture below with thick green and green plaid ribbon, purple berries filling gaps, shiny blue, gold, and antler ornaments, and yellow lights. This tree is packed with what may seem like a lot going on but when it all goes together and matches, it can really turn into a Christmas tree that exudes a feeling of comfort and home for family to gather around for the much anticipated holiday. Find woodsy ornaments, those cinnamon pinecones, and plenty of blue, green, and gold ornaments to cover the tree in. Christmas doesn’t have to be only reds, golds, and whites, change it up by throwing in some more color like blues and purples. It’ll still have a cozy Christmas feel, now your Christmas tree will be looking different than many others this year. Make you Christmas tree unique by decorating it in this blue, green, and woodsy theme.

Tinsel Everywhere

Who says tinsel has to be tacky? The way that the tree is decorated below is actually quite pretty. Just us? Seriously though, the way that the tinsel hangs down from this Christmas tree kind of makes it look like a weeping willow. We hope you’re not feeling sad this Christmas season though, because we’re trying to get everyone into the wonderful and magical Christmas spirit where miracles could happen. A Christmas tree full of color with the many different garlands of tinsel, the ornamental bulbs filling the tree, and a snowy tree skirt will bring the North Pole into your own living room. Remember that episode of Friends, the one where Monica decorates one side of the Christmas tree with a really nice and traditional style, and the rest of the group decorates the other side into a mess of tinsel. With this tree though, the tinsel shouldn’t be arranged in so much of a mess rather a delicate draping across the tree, repeated over and over to create this not so tacky, Who-ville level Christmas tree.
