Okay, it’s finally December. Or November. Or even September; no matter the month, corporations are still going to go out and collectively agree to put out Christmas decorations to lure you into spending hundreds in the holiday rush.
And we’re going to make it easier!
Joking aside, you’re most likely trying to figure out how you’re going to be battling the holiday rush in 2020, especially with what’s happening in the world. Here’s how to prepare for the holiday rush for Christmas 2020.
You’re going to need it if you’re going to battle the Karens and little kids during Black Friday. If you’re going to do that, that is.
Now, this article will most likely be released in September. We’re aware of that. So there isn’t a lot of time to make a list of what people would want. If you haven’t really got a clue, you still have time! Try to subtly ask your friends what they want during September if you haven’t done it yet. You don’t want alarm bells to start ringing early, so by the time Christmas comes along, then you can surprise them!
If you kinda have an idea of what everyone wants, then plan it out. Write out a list of what you think and what you know people will want for Christmas.
Maybe your best friend mentioned buying this really cute hoodie when you both went to Marshalls that one time. Maybe your friends have a certain obsession that they can’t get over. You can totally get merchandise for them and make them totally happy.
This is one of the first steps you can take to getting ahead of the holiday rush.
Window shopping is key when it comes to figuring out what to get for your loved ones. Here’s where you keep things in a list and bookmark everything! If you’re getting anything from Amazon, keep things in a list so you’re very organized.
If you’re doing it everywhere else, bookmark any pages that have the thing that you’re thinking of getting for your corresponding loved one. Just check everything out, see if things are available, and if not, lie in wait until it suddenly appears like a metaphoric phoenix rising from the metaphorical ashes.
Also, take this time to hang out more with your friends and see what else they may like. For example, if they mention that they want a specific book, then write it down. If it’s accessible, put your handy dandy face-shield (AKA face mask) on and go get it the next day! Getting it the next day or that instant helps out in getting ahead of the holiday rush when twelve other moms want the same thing.
Now, chances are, if you live in a small town, they don’t just have malls or big chain clothing stores wherever you go. There’s an even bigger chance that there are no specific stores that your loved one likes in your immediate vicinity.
That’s what the internet is for!
Shop online for anything that your loved ones like. If they want anything from Studio Ghibli, going to Hot Topic is your best bet. If they want any clothing try Kohls, JCPenney’s, Macy’s, or any other clothing stores of your choice.
We’re saying to do this two months in advance for a couple of reasons. The first and most obvious is to get ahead of that holiday rush. The second reason is because of the post office. There’ve been heavy delays with packages not arriving by the designated time. Two months may seem a bit excessive, but if you think about it, it’s a pretty ideal time frame.
What happens if it’s not here in time if you do it a month in advance? It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Now it’s time to buy the Christmasy materials! Bows! Ribbon! Wrapping paper! Lots and lots of tape! What else is there to get before the holiday rush?
Oh, and if you don’t want to be bothered with wrapping, then you can totally cheat and get gift bags. Gifts are gifts; who cares what package it came in?
After splurging, Walmart is the place to get Christmas materials ahead of the holiday rush and save on a bit of extra cash.
Okay, all your presents got to your house on time. What now? Now it’s time to make them look all pretty for the big day! You don’t want your gifts to be all out and exposed now, do you? No, that’s not Gucci.
Wrap those bad boys and chuck ’em under your tree! This is one of the funnier and most fun parts of the process. Now that you have their gifts ready, you get to tease them and taunt them with pictures and reminders of their gifts before Christmas hits. They’ll want to know what it is. They’re just waiting with antici…
…pation.
Anyways, now its Christmas! Time for the gift-giving to commence. Congrats, you made it past the holiday rush and angry shoppers and now you’re at the final frontier. You’ve done it, you handsome soldier you. Give yourself a pat on the back for all the planning and wrapping you did. And what’s even better is that your friends loved your gifts! Amazing work!
