When you go to watch a TV show, you’re probably expecting and hoping for a lot of great acting, a compelling storyline, and some unique character portrayal. Oh, and sometimes some great clothes and fashion. Here are the current TV shows with the best fashion to fulfill your desires.
Dynasty is an American prime time television soap opera reboot based on the 1980s series of the same name. It airs on CW and a day later on Netflix internationally. The premise begins with heiress Fallon Carrington unhappy to find her billionaire father Blake engaged to Cristal, a rival employee at the family company. When Fallon’s machinations to separate the couple backfire and cost her a promotion, she allies with Blake’s nemesis and former employee, Jeff Colby, and strikes out on her own.
The show stars the gorgeous Elizabeth Gillies as the infamous Fallon Carrington and it’s her outfits and style that make the show. She’s beautiful, rich and glamorous and her fashion is the same. Here are some of her best looks.
Riverdale is again an American teen drama television series, based on the characters of Archie Comics. The series was adapted for The CW by Archie Comics’ chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and is produced by Warner Bros. The show follows the lives of four teenagers in the small town of Riverdale that is far from as perfect as it seems.
While the three seasons have been wildly different and crazy one thing has stayed the same. The stunning fashion sense. Female leads Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge are complete style opposites but both rock in their own way.
With season 3 airing this week Stranger Things is the TV show on everyone’s lips. It’s a mix of investigative drama alongside supernatural elements portrayed with childlike sensibilities. Oh and iconic 80’s fashion! Retro is so in at the moment and Stranger Things is a great show to draw inspiration from with its constant homage to the pop culture of that decade.
What makes Stranger Things even better fashion-wise is that so many brands have decided to collaborate, most notably H&M and Pull&Bear.
Empire is a musical drama television series. When Hip Hop mogul and CEO is informed of his early death he is forced to choose a successor to take control of his dynasty and empire. He must decide between his three sons and to make matters even more difficult his ex-wife Cookie is released from prison and also pulls for her share.
Cookie is a style icon. She’s a bad bitch and she knows it. Rita McGhee, the show’s costume designer, told the LA Times, “Cookie’s the queen of the jungle. She’s a tiger mom, a lioness who’s waiting to pounce. Any kind of animal print or skin I can find really adds to the character.”
The Crown is a historical drama Netflix series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The style on the show is so lavish and extravagant, it’s easy to see how the budget is rumored to be over $100 million dollars. Outfits are inspired by the times and actual clothes the British royal family wore. The dresses are so so gorgeous and a real treat for the eye. The show costume designer is Michele Clapton, a three-time Emmy-winning designer.
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is a sequel to the hit show Pretty Little Liars. Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprise their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal. The show follows the murder at a college. Just like the original TV show, it has the same great fashion sense by the incredible female cast members. The looks are really easy to recreate and shop, so go out and buy!
These shows are worth watching just for the clothes they show on the screen. Big shout out to their amazing designers and costumes teams.
