Galentine’s Day, often celebrated the day before Valentine’s day, is the day that we celebrate the love that we have for our lady friends, our gals. This past year was very difficult for all, making the holiday season even more important, showing the ones around us how much we love them and care. Galentine’s day should be a day filled with fun and love, here are some of the very best ways to make the most out of Galentine’s.
If you are hosting a Galentine’s day celebration, take the time to make it extra special. Send out invitations, set a dress code, make a special playlist, and create a special evening or outing that will impress all of your girlfriends!
If you are living in an area where restaurants and dining are open, plan a Galentine’s day lunch. Choose a restaurant that caters to all and contact the restaurant to see if you can decorate the table. If so, include small trinkets and treasures for each Gal, Galentine’s name tags, flowers or chocolates would do. Make an event out of it while dining on your favorite sweet treats, wine, and cocktails.
Take a Galentine’s day group hike. Find a beautiful hike with a magnificent view or hike one of your favorite trails spending the day with your gals making it to the very top. Exercise does the body well, exercising together is good for the mind.
To keep yourself and your gals safe this year, it may be necessary to spend Galentine’s day apart. This does not mean that you cannot spend the day celebrating. Take the day to celebrate over Zoom with a special DIY project. You can either choose one project that none of you have completed and learn something together or spend the day teaching each other projects that you all enjoy.
This option could go along with a DIY day. Spend the day over zoom with your ladies taking an online painting class. This will allow you all to use your creativity, imagination, and learn together. Having a day full of creativity would be a wonderful day to celebrate with your gals, doing something you all enjoy.
Keeping it minimal, host a wine tasting for your fave girls. Use Galentine’s Day as the perfect excuse for tasting a wide variety of bright Moscato’s, crisp roses, Tarte chardonnay, and deep merlots.
Host a Zoom trivia night! To create be best Galentine’s trivia night, download a trivia app to help the night run smoothly. Have all of your gals download the trivia app and play along together.
If you can be with your gals this year, a Galentine’s photoshoot may be in order. Create a fun, valentine’s styled backdrop. Prepare accessories and props and have a ball. Print the photos off and frame them to give to your gals as Galentine’s day gifts.
Host a cookie swap. Galentine’s day should be a day full of laughter, good food, yummy sweets, and delicious drinks. Have a cookie swap- with a maximum of 10 people, please. Cookie swaps are a fun way to try new recipes and treat your gals to a delicious treat. Pair your cookies with champagne or prosecco and make a day of it. Tasting cookies, sipping wine, and spending girl time with your gals.
If you can be with the girls this year, treat yourselves to a spa day. You could spend the day getting pedicures and manicures at your favorite nail salon or visit a hair salon for conditioning treatments and blowouts.
Plan a Galentine’s day Mimosa Brunch! Pair your mimosas with finger foods and sweet treats, and small gifts. Spend the day enjoying a lovely brunch celebrating your fave girls.
Those in cooler climates may still have snow in February. If so, plan a snow day with the girls. Take advantage of the snow and take a trip up to a ski resort or spend the day snowshoeing through the woods. After spending the day in the cold, snuggle up around a fire with hot chocolate or mulled wine and enjoy the winter weather. This will make for a fun-filled day for all!
If you and your favorite ladies cant be together this year, finding ways to celebrate each other can be difficult. This year you can celebrate with each other by sending care packages. Include a good book, their favorite teas, a bottle of wine, and some sweet treats. This will allow them to celebrate in the comfort of their own home while being shown just how much you care for them.
If you are wanting to help your friend relax this Galentine’s day, send them care packages that include Epsom salts, bath bombs, lotions, body oils or face masks. Include a relaxing lavender candle and your friend will be thanking you later!
Take a day trip with your girlfriends to the beach or up into the mountains. Explore areas that you have never visited while singing your favorite throwback tracks. Visit a small town you have been meaning to hit, or drive up to the top of the mountains and see where you end up. Pack a picnic lunch, download your favorite playlists or comedy specials and spend the day exploring!
