The Best Holiday Decorations You Need Now

Winter is almost here, which means it’s time to start thinking about decorating for the holidays. Whether you live in a large house or an apartment these are the holiday decorations that will surely brighten up your home. These are the holiday decorations that have been cherished for years and years, and some of them have a modern, updated twist to ensure they look just as cute as any other decor you might already have up. These holiday decorations will bring definitely put everyone in the holiday mood. 

1. Christmas Tree

First thing first is you’re going to want to hang up a tree, if you celebrate Christmas that is. This is great because it’s actually not that tall, it only stands at four feet. This is perfect if you live in a smaller apartment or if you just don’t want a massive tree. 

2. Menorah

If you don’t celebrate Christmas this menorah is perfect. It’s modernized without looking far out there or disrespectful. 

3. Garland

Hang garland anywhere and everywhere. This white one below is perfect because it almost looks like snow. You can of course get the typical green one but this one is nice because it is unexpected, and white goes with everything. 

4. Pom Pom Garland

If you aren’t into traditional garland consider this pom pom garland. It’s cute and just as festive. It would be perfect for someone who goes the non-traditional route when it comes to holiday decorations. 

5. Wreaths

Of course you’ll want a wreath to hang on your door! This is wonderfully festive without being too over the top. Plus it’s durable so that way you can actually hang it outside without worrying about it getting destroyed. 

6. Table Runner

A table runner is one of those holiday decorations you don’t think about but always looks great. Get this one because it’s subtle, there are only really snowflakes, and that way you can use it well into the new year. 

7. Placemats

If you plan on hosting any sort of holiday gatherings this season make sure you have some festive placemats. These will wow your guests and ensure nothing is spilled all over your table. 

8. Dish Towels

Even decorate your kitchen! Put out these dish towels so that way even when you’re doing chores you’ll still be put in the holiday mood. 

9. Flameless Candles

It might be chilly during the holiday but it’s better to have flameless candles than a bunch of actual ones around your house. Places these on timers so that way they come on just when the sun goes down. 

10. Candlesticks

To go with those flameless candles are some candlesticks. Place these on the table, or even on the floor somewhere, and you’ll instantly light up your winter evenings. Bonus points if you wrap a bow around the candlesticks.

Don’t forget to hang some stockings by the fire! If you don’t have one though anywhere is fine. What is nice about these stockings is that they can be personalized, a great little gift to give your roommates. 

12. Ornaments In Glasses

Another cheap and neat little decorating trick is to get some round ornaments, like the ones below, and place them in a clear vase. They don’t have to be expensive at all. This will look incredibly thought out when in all honesty it didn’t take any effort at all. 

13. Mini-Trees

If you just can’t get enough of trees, or your place is truly too small for one this mini-tree is where it’s at. Get one and put it on a table and you have the cutest little holiday corner. 

14. Reindeer Figurines

Be sure to grab some decorations that pay homage to Santa’s trusty steeds. This reindeer figurine is just too cute. Put it on your mantle or on the coffee table. 

15. Fake Poinsettia

If you have pets run don’t walk away from real poinsettias, they are deadly. Instead find yourself a nice, fake poinsettia that will still bring all the holiday cheer.

Pine cones are the perfect rustic holiday decorations. Get a bunch of fake ones, like the ones below, and put them in a bowl and you have yourself a perfect, winter centerpiece.

17. Bows

Put bows on everything! On staircases, doors, knobs, the dog, anywhere you can put one put a bow. Some are a little more pricey than others or you could of course make your own by going to your local craft store. 

18. Twinkle Lights

These twinkle lights are perfect holiday decorations because they can actually be used once the holidays are over. If you aren’t too keen on putting up the typical lights these are just as festive but not too over the top. 

19. Mistletoe

Mistletoe is one of the more famous holiday decorations. Place this strategically in your house to guarantee you’ll always get kissed by the one you love.

This is a modern take on a classic holiday decoration. This beaded blue dreidel is unexpected in all the best ways. 

21. Light Wreath

If you want holiday decorations that aren’t too over the top consider this light wreath. It is simple and looks nature made, minus the beaming lights of course. This perfect if your holiday decorations are more rustic or you just like simplicity. 

22. Advent Calendar

This is great if you have a little one in the house, or if you just are simply a Christmas enthusiast yourself. This advent calendar is one of those fun little holiday decorations you’ll be surprised you lived without. 

23. Show Off Your Cookies

Use your own baking skills as decorations! Bake until your heart’s content and then place them all in this glass display case. It’s better than a typical trey because it’s covered, protecting your sugary treats form dust, dirt, and possible bugs. 

24. Blue And Silver Wreath

This blue and silver wreath really goes over the top. It’s one of those holiday decorations you can keep up well into the new year because of the colors. Or it would go great for decorating for Hanukkah
