The 10 Most Surprising Foods You Can Actually Eat On A Diet

Dieting isn’t any fun. Most of us try to avoid even the mere mention of it at any and all costs. Even if we do give dieting a go it normally won’t last more than a week, if even. However, there are a lot of foods you can eat on a diet that you never would’ve expected; you just have to choose the right diet plan and do proper research (which isn’t that hard since your smartphone is attached to your hand literally 90% of the time). Here are some surprising diet foods you can actually eat while still successfully dieting!

1. Bacon

Bacon is great for a low-carb diet. As a meat, it has almost no carbs at all. Thank goodness, too, because I don’t know if I could give it up. Thank goodness for these surprising diet foods!

2. Cheese

Similarly to bacon, cheese is good for a low carb diet because its carb count is incredibly low. In fact, most dairy products have been studied to have an association with weight loss.

3. Vanilla ice cream

Now, I’m not saying to go eat three bowls of ice cream every day. But about half a cup to a cup of vanilla ice cream once a week is actually really good to eat on a diet because it tricks your body so it starts to work just a little harder to get rid of the influx of calories. Cheat days don’t come from the weak-willed but from actual science!

4. Beans

Not great for a low-carb diet, but AMAZING for a high-fiber diet!

5. Lemon

Lemon is an anti-inflammatory, which makes it great for dieting as well as just maintaining a generally healthy lifestyle. Easily incorporate it into your diet by pouring some lemon juice into the water you drink!

6. Eggs

Another high-protein snack! This one is also good for the low-carb diet. Most of us eat eggs on a weekly, if not daily, basis already, which makes it that much easier to start dieting!

7. Chicken

Don’t go picking up some of grandma’s fried chicken now, but grilled or baked chicken is a great source of protein! As a meat, it is also a low-carb food!

8. Hot sauce

Hot sauce gets its heat source from capsaicin, which has been shown to increase your metabolism for a short time. Plus, its burst of flavor leaves you feeling more satisfied!

9. Popcorn

Popcorn is normally associated with junk food, but you might be surprised at how much fiber it actually contains! It’s surprisingly low-calorie as well!

10. Butter

Butter is one of those healthy fats that you always read about on the food pyramid, even though you might have heard differently in previous years. Although it still might be worth your while to substitute the normal butter you use for an organic counterpart! Ghee butter is especially good for diets.
