Wikipedia is good for the traveler in search of a basic culture guide. By clicking on a location’s culture subheading, one can learn essential info to prepare themselves for a vastly different area than what they’re used to, lessening the impact of culture shock. Not to mention that knowing a bit of a location’s history and culture is a good idea for understanding the locals anyway.

4. Waze

The GPS app that does more than just give directions. Waze is a connected network where individuals place alerts of dangers such crashes and heavy traffic so you’re experience on the road is not just safer, but smarter too. First created in Israel, where it is still popular, Waze is available all around the world. A definite recommendation for those traveling with or by car.
