If you have ever heard of the online clothing store Shein and were curious about it but never wanted to spend your own money, I’m here to help. Here is my review, as well as 20 pieces I think you should pick up before the summer ends.
Overall I would say that Shein is a great option if you are looking for budget-friendly clothing. When I say budget-friendly, I mean that the majority of their products are below $20.00 USD, which is probably the least expensive you will find on the market right now. They also are constantly running promotions giving you anywhere between 10-40% off of your purchase, so be sure to keep an eye out for discount codes. Additionally, Shein offers a variety of new and trendy styles and is constantly putting out new products. I would liken Shein to what Forever 21 used to be.
The one thing that I want to note is that not all of their products are created equal. Some are of better quality and the sizing is not universal. You should make sure to read reviews of each piece you are interested in before purchasing. The reviews, which are written by other Shein shoppers, will tell you if the item runs big or small, and if the product is of good quality. The reviews will ensure that you are smart with your order. Additionally, I would note that shipping takes a bit longer than other retailers but it is nothing too terrible.

1. Denim shortsÂ
I was originally hesitant about ordering denim off of Shein, but this was probably my favorite find. The quality is excellent and the fit is perfect. I usually struggle to find shorts that fit me so I was shocked when these became a new staple in my wardrobe. I would describe them as boyfriend cut as they are looser around the legs, but the waist is nice and snug so you won’t have any awkward gaping. Best of all, they are only $14.00 USD. Totally worth it.
2. Green bikini
This bikini is actually so comfy and such a great deal on Shein. The top is very supportive, I would describe it almost like a sports bra, and there is a cut out on the front that is flattering and adds a nice detail. The bottoms are pretty full coverage but they can be pulled up higher on your hips if you like a cheekier look. The bottoms do not have an elastic in them so they run a little bit on the bigger side. There are also four different colors to choose from.
3. White blouse
This white top is the perfect summer staple. The fit is true to size and the simplicity of the piece makes it extremely versatile. Pair it with some denim shorts and you have an effortlessly stylish look or pair it with some black pants for one that’s more business casual. When on the body this shirt is a little more on the cropped side but the cut is very flattering. Additionally, the material is thin but not see-through which makes it ideal for summer. This top also comes in five other colors.
4. Pink snake print bikini
This pink snake print bikini is such a fun Shein find. Similar to the green one previously mentioned, the top is very supportive as it is structured like a sports bra. The bottoms are a little more cheeky than the green bathing suit but still offer good coverage. There is an elastic band on these bottoms so I would recommend sizing up if your bottom half is bigger than your top. Overall this bathing suit is so vibrant and fun and I can’t wait to show it off. Also, it’s only $8.00 USD for the set so you can’t really go wrong with this Shein purchase.
5. One shoulder top
This one-shoulder top from Shein comes in six other colors and is the perfect summer basic. The material is high quality and the fit is perfect. You can’t go wrong here as this top is only $4.00 USD!
6. Blue floral sundress
This blue floral dress from Shein is absolutely adorable. Its material is lightweight, making it ideal to wear in the summer and it comes in three other colors. The only thing I would note about this item is that the top is on the smaller side so you will want to size up if you have a bigger chest. Additionally, you might want to wear a bralette or bandeau with it as it does have a deeper v-cut.
7. Navy blue bikini
This is another bikini from Shein that I can’t stop raving about. The top is similar to the previous styles, like a sports bra, but this one fits a little tighter which adds a flattering lift. Additionally, the bottoms are pretty full coverage, and like the green swimsuit, don’t have an elastic so they fit well. This bikini is extremely flattering and comes in 15 other colors. I highly recommend you check this one out!
8. Green blouse
This adorable little blouse is perfect for a date night or casual dinner out during the summertime. The material is lightweight and washes very nicely. The only thing to note is that you will need to add either a bralette or tank top underneath it as the front does have a deeper v-cup. Pair this little blouse pairs with some jeans and sandals and you have an effortlessly put-together look.
9. White long-sleeve blouseÂ
I am obsessed with this white boho-styled blouse. Throw on some boyfriend jeans and some slides and you are looking summery and stylish. This top is 100% cotton and only $12.00 USD! Just be sure to give it a good steam or iron once you receive it.
10. Green ruched crop top
This green ruched crop top is absolutely adorable and I’m obsessed with it. The quality is pretty good, it is slightly sheer but that is easily fixed by wearing nude-colored undergarments. There is also a zipper on the side making it easier to put on and making it look more expensive than it actually is! A really excellent top that can be dressed up or down and is only $13.00 USD.
11. White skort
This precious little skort is perfect for the summer. I think it’s the perfect addition to your wardrobe as it can be styled in many different ways. Now there are a couple of things to note about this piece. I would say that it fits a little tight so you should probably size up and it’s a little see-through. The fabric being on the sheer side really wasn’t that concerning to me because white tends to have that issue and can easily be fixed by wearing nude underwear. Aside from this, there are built-in shorts under the skirt (hence my label as a skort) and if you aren’t into that then this may not be the item for you.
12. Black basic tank
This basic tank is quite literally perfect and if you are looking for basics, look no further. This piece can be dressed up by adding a blazer over top or kept casual with a simple pair of denim shorts, it’s truly so versatile. The square neckline is also adhering to the trending styles, ensuring your look is current. This tank is well crafted, fits like a glove, and is cropped but not too cropped. Absolutely love this find from Shein.
13. Pink wrap dress
When I initially spotted this pink wrap dress all I could think about was how similar it looked to one that I had previously bought at Princess Polly, but for a fraction of the cost. This dress which retails for $12.00 USD is such an adorable little summer sundress. Throw this on for a quick brunch or add sneakers for a street look. I would recommend sizing up in this particular dress as it does seem to run small. Additionally, nude undergarments should be worn underneath as the material is a bit sheer.
14. Tie-dye two-piece set
If you are looking for cute but casual loungewear on Shein I would recommend trying out this set. First of all, you don’t have to buy these pieces separately which is very convenient. Additionally, this set is $19.00. That means each piece comes out to be less than $10.00 USD, and personally, I think that is a steal. The material is super soft but relatively thin so you don’t have to worry about overheating during the summer months. One thing to note though is that the top is pretty cropped so if that makes you uncomfortable I would look around for other alternatives. Overall, a super cute, comfy, and trendy loungewear set.
15. Pants/tube top two-piece set
This is another cute two-piece set from Shein that I think is ideal to have in your wardrobe for the summer. It is simple enough that you can easily dress it up or down, depending on your needs. The material is not see-through and is true to size. The only issue I had was that the pants were a little long, but I am 5’4″ so I’m somewhat used to that. I just added some wedges and it was good to go!
16. Double strap sandals
I recommend double strapped sandals to everyone I know because they truly are such a staple in my summer wardrobe. These ones from Shein, which are only $14.00 USD are some of the most affordable on the market while still being of decent quality. They come in three different colors and fit true to size.
17. Heeled sandals
These adorable little heels come in three other colors, are good quality, super comfy, and have the perfect tiny heel. I would probably pair them with some slacks or a floral dress for a fashion-forward summer look.
18. Braided crossbody bag
Shein. You have outdone yourself with this bag. It is the perfect size, really good quality and SO cute. The outside has a hard shell but the inside is nice and roomy so there is plenty of space to keep your belongings. At $23.00 USD this bag is on the more expensive end for Shein products so I would probably wait for their next sale. Either way, I would definitely consider grabbing this piece before it sells out!
19. Sunglasses
I think these sunglasses are a staple to purchase from Shein. They are simple, elegant, and classy. They are also a great dupe for Ray-Bans as they look very similar but are only $5.00 USD. However, I would probably recommend these glasses for people with smaller heads and skinnier faces as they are on the smaller side.
20. Link necklace
This necklace, that is only $4.00 USD, is an excellent budget-friendly dupe to the Cartier one. This necklace has tiny rhinestones embedded in it and is just the perfect dainty accessory. Another one of my favorites on Shein.
