Located in the heart of downtown Providence, Hemenway’s is a popular seafood spot in the city. The restaurant has a Raw Bar set in the middle of the restaurant, where you can get Hemenway’s signature Shellfish Platter. You can even get the Raw Bar for half price on Monday’s!
2. Matunuk Oyster Bar, South Kingstown, RI.
Located right on the water in SK, you can order their popular Matunuk Oysters. The oysters are grown and plucked right in Potter Pond, which you can see from the restaurant.
3. George’s of Galilee, Galilee, RI.
This waterfront seafood restaurant has been serving seafood since 1948. They are especially known for their lobster which is brought directly from the fishermen at Narragansett Bay Lobsters, so you know it’s fresh.
4. Gracie’s, Providence, RI.
The only restaurant in Providence to receive the AAA Four Diamond-award, Gracie’s is an upscale seafood restaurant. They are known for the scallops as well as the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings.
5. Iggy’s, Warwick & Narragansett, RI.
Iggy’s has two locations in Rhode Island, one in Warwick’s Oakland Beach and the other in Narragansett’s Point Judith. It’s is known for its delicious and affordable clam chowder and dough boys. They offer a take out area in the front so you can dine wherever you want around the water!
6. Midtown Oyster Bar, Newport, RI.
Midtown Oyster bar is known for its atmosphere, offering many options and two al fresco decks. In addition, they have the largest raw bar in Newport.
7. Boat House, Tiverton, RI.
Boat House is especially known for its scallops which are pan seared and served with bacon- how can you go wrong?! They also have an outdoor patio and a heated covered porch with views of the Sakonnet River.
8. Jamestown FiSH, Jamestown, RI.
Jamestown FiSH has won awards from Food and Wine, Wine Spectator, and Rhode Island Monthly’s Best of RI. They are on Narragansett Bay and are described as a fine dining establishment with a casual atmosphere and European influence.
9. DeWolf Tavern, Bristol, RI.
DeWolf Tavern has a number of weekly specials including dollar oysters, a $25 three course prefixed meal, half bottles of wine, and half apps. It also features live music on Wednesday nights.
10. Quito’s, Bristol, RI.
Quito’s fuses seafood with Italian food. Their seafood comes from local markets like Tony’s Seafood, Andrade’s Catch, Galilean Seafood, and Foley Fish. Interestingly enough, Quito’s started off as a fish market. Like Iggy’s, Quito’s also offers a take out area in the front.
