10 Reasons Your Dad Is The Only Man You Need In Your Life

If there’s one man who will always be there for you, it’s your dad. He has helped you grow into the strong independent woman you are today. Wherever you go and whatever you do, your dad will always have your back. Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad. Below are 10 reasons your dad is the only man you need in your life!

1. He’s your day one — literally.

He was there the moment you came into the world and he has watched you grow every day since.  He was the first man you trusted, and his dependability has never faltered. Boyfriends will come and go, but your dad has always been there for you and always will.

2. He taught you how you deserve to be treated.

When you were a little girl, you were a princess and your dad was the king. Your dad taught you that you were special and you deserved nothing less than a prince. Now that you’ve gotten older, you realize that you may never get a real prince, but you deserve a man who acts like one. You deserve a man who will love you, cherish you, and treat you right. And any man who doesn’t treat you right will to have face your dad.

3. He has the most comfortable sweatshirts.

Let’s be honest, your dad has the best clothes. His sweatshirts may go down to your knees, but they’re the most comfortable article of clothing you’ve ever put on. Even those ratty old crew necks from his college years have a special luxury, unmatched by the softest silk. Maybe it’s because it smells like him; maybe it’s because it reminds you of a good memory. Regardless, you have to take something of your dad’s with you everywhere you go (sorry Dad).

4. He taught you to stand up for yourself.

Your dad doesn’t take crap from anyone and neither do you. When you were young, your dad taught you the importance of standing up for yourself. From your first fight with friends to your first breakup, your dad reminded you never to let someone walk all over you. Because of your dad, you are strong, independent, and you don’t let people push you around — just like him.

5. He taught you to be brave.

When you were growing up, your dad wasn’t afraid of anything. From checking under your bed for monsters as a kid to teaching you how to punch in your teens, his courage was inspiring. He taught you that nothing was ever as bad as it seems and that you were capable of anything. You carried on the lessons he taught you as a little girl and, because of him, you always put on a brave face.

6. He will always protect you.

From your first run-in with a bully to your first heartbreak, your dad always had your back. For a dad, nothing hurts more than seeing his daughter hurt. So, your dad does everything in his power to keep you safe and happy. You know that when you’re with your dad, nothing bad could ever happen because even being in his presence makes you feel safe. And when you’re away from him, he’d drive hours if necessary to make sure you’re okay.

7. He can always make you smile.

His humor may be cheesy, but they’re called “dad jokes” for a reason. He’s the goofiest man you’ve ever met and his presence always puts you in a good mood. Thanks dad, for making life fun.

8. He taught you to be independent.

Of all the lessons your dad taught you, possibly the most important lesson was to value your independence. Everyone needs their dad when they’re little, but as you grew up your dad taught you how to fend for yourself. He taught you how to survive on your own. Because of him, you don’t need a man to take care of you. Your strength derives from your independence.

9. He’s always honest with you.

Throughout your life, you could always count on your dad for honesty. You went to him when you needed someone to tell you the truth He’s always been there to tell it like it is no matter what. He doesn’t always give you the answer you want, but he gives you the answer you need.

10. He loves you unconditionally.

Your dad loves you more than anything. Even when you make a mistake, he always forgives you. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, your dad will always be there for you. Even as the years go by, you’ll always be his little girl.
