1. Rock City Rocktoberfest at Lookout Mountain.

Rock City Rocktoberfest is a German Festival from the top of Lookout Mountain. Not only can you learn to Polka, but also you can see seven states from their observation deck!

2. Wine Over Water, the best wine tasting event in Chattanooga.

Wine over water is the biggest wine tasting in Chattanooga. It takes place on the ever-famous Walnut Street Bridge, overlooking the Tennessee River.

3. Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Chattanooga Market.

During the Chattanooga Market, which should totally be a spot to hit during fall, one weekend they hold an Oktoberfest. Oompah bands, beers, and lots and lots of food are arranged and it’s extremely popular here in Chattanooga.

4. Get lost in a corn maze at Guthrie Farms.

Guthrie Farms in Chattanooga in the fall is absolutely spectacular. The corn maze, pumpkin patch, and petting zoo are so much fun, however, my favorite part of Guthrie Farms is most definitely “redneck zombie paintball”. Yes, I’m serious, they give you paintball guns and you shoot at people dressed as Zombies. It’s definitely the best thing to exist.

5. Trick-or-treat at Tennessee Aquarium’s AquaScarium.

AquaScarium is an event held by the Tennessee Aquarium where you can dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat through the Tennessee Aquarium where even the scuba divers are in costume!

6. Halloween Eerie Express at the Tennessee Valley Rail Museum.

Tennessee Valley Rail has created a fun, not scary, train excursion for families. It takes a trip through Missionary Ridge and takes you to a “Fun House”. You enjoy cider and storytelling, as well!

7. Boo in the Zoo!

Boo in the Zoo in Chattanooga is definitely a big deal. Most teens and adults volunteer, many sororities dress up to hang out candy, Children always enjoy it, and the best part is all the cute animals!

8. The free Hamilton County Fair.

A petting zoo, old timey cars, and lots of fun activities but the best part is it’s free!

9. Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern

26 stories underground, pitch black, and full of scary creatures the Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern is definitely one of the scariest places to visit in the fall. So if you have a tendency to wet your pants, don’t go to this.

11. Post-Mortem Haunted Trail

Definitely not a place to go if you don’t like scary things, this haunted trail is terrifying. You walk through a dark forest while creatures lurk in the shadows.

12. Acres of Darkness: Haunted Trail and Family Adventure

Another trail adventure is Acres of Darkness. This years theme is a summer camp and you can choose from the kiddie trail or Haunted Forest Trail. With many other activities, you’re in for “a killer good time”.

13.  Pick pumpkins at Blowing Springs Farm!

If you just want to go to a cute fall festival, Blowing Springs Farm is the place to go. With a petting zoo, a place to pick pumpkins, and a cute maze that reminds you to “see rock city” you’re sure to have a fun, not scary, time.

14. The best views in Chattanooga are at Sunset Rock.

Sunset Rock is absolutely breathtaking. While most visit during the summer, I think the best time to go is when the leaves start changing. The view of the Tennessee River and Chattanooga will leave you awestruck.

15. Lookout Mountain Incline Railway Rides!

If you’re looking for a beautiful view of Chattanooga in the fall, but you do not want to go on a hike, try the Incline Railway Ride. It’s so much fun and with plenty to explore both at the top and bottom, it is definitely worth the 72.7% grade ride up and down Lookout Mountain.
