A Ranking Of UCF Dorms And Residence Halls

We all want the finer things in life, and if you’re going to the University of Central Florida and are planning to live on campus, this article is a must read. I’ll tell you where you want to stay and where you don’t want to stay in regards to UCF dorms and residence halls. And when it comes down to it, just remember this; the nicer the room the more expensive it is.

1. Tower Apartments

The Towers at Knights Plaza easily takes number one on the UCF dorms and residence halls list – not surprising since it is one of the more recent housing communities. You have the choice of doing a 4 by 2 which is 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, or a 4 by 4 which is 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. This apartment comes fully furnished and includes a kitchen for those of you that would rather cook than have over-expensive meal plans. The beds are full size and the rooms are nice and big – did I mention that they are singles, too! While the Tower apartments are the most expensive of the UCF dorms and residence hall options, you definitely get your money’s worth. Aside from having a beautiful apartment, there are so many eateries around the apartments: Subway, Dominoes, Dunkin Donuts, and many more. Also you’re right by the football stadium and the school’s arena where the basketball team plays. If you’re a sports fan, this is the place for you. Towers are also close to classes so you won’t have a far walk.

2. Nike/ Hercules Apartments

The Nike/Hercules Apartments are identical apartments with different names. I currently live here and I love it so much! It’s basically Towers with a twin size bed. The leisure pool is located right next to these apartments, so whenever you feel like having some fun in the sun, head over there. There are always parties at the leisure pool so you will never get bored. You can either live in a 2 by 1 or a 4 by 2. Sorry, but you don’t have the option of having your own bathroom if you’re living over here – tough life, right? (LOL)

3. Neptune Community

Neptune is the newest community of UCF dorms and residence halls, and it’s definitely evident. These suites have 4 rooms two bathrooms. Don’t get Neptune confused with apartment style, because there is no living room or stove, though there is one stove located on each floor. Neptune is very modern, but only freshman can live here. So if you’re a freshman that wants your own room, this is the place to be. Also in this community there is a beautiful lake for you to sit out by and get some homework done, which is what my friend and I used to do. This community is also located close to the leisure pool as well.

4. Nike/ Hercules Shared Suites

This is the place to be if you’re a freshman, mainly because only freshman can live here. The rooms are a great size. It’s a shared suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There are two people in each bedroom and it’s a residence hall which allows you to make friends with your suitemates and floormates. I lived in here my freshman year, and while it can sometimes be rough having a roommate, living in these UCF dorms provided me with many opportunities to meet new people. I met some lifelong friends and I wouldn’t change a thing. And of course, the leisure pool is close!

5. Lake Claire Apartments

Lake Claire Apartments is one of the older options for UCF dorms and residence halls. This community only offers a 4 by 2 situation; it’s basically like the Nike/Hercules apartments, but the older version of it. It’s literally right smack dab in the middle of campus, so walking to class is nothing. Wanna just roll out of bed and head straight to class? Then this is the place for you to be.

6. Apollo/ Libra Shared Suites

Like Lake Claire, Apollo/ Libra is one of the oldest communities on UCF’s campus, and my least favorite of them all. There are cement walls, bad lighting, and a bathroom that resembles a jail cell. Sorry, but I’m just being brutally honest. It’s not a terrible place to live though, and you’re super close to your classes.
