10 Plausible Resolutions To Make For 2022

How long do you think it was until your New Year’s resolution was forgotten about in 2021? A month? Maybe two until this habit fell through? New Year’s resolutions can become quite a sore subject, especially when you tell more and more people in your life all about your hopes and aspirations for the “new year, new me” cliche expectations that come around every New Year’s Eve. They ask about your goal to drink less, as your drinking the day away on February 14th, or if you’ve been exercising more just as your starting the second season of your favorite show that you’ve been binging on the couch all day. Given all the unfortunate events of 2020 and 2021, maybe it’s actually 2022 that will kick off the Roaring 20’s of the 21st century. At least we hope it will be. With our help, you can set plausible and realistic resolutions that will be fully incorporated into your lifestyle by the time 2022 comes to a close. These are ten plausible resolutions you can set for 2022, our first tip being to avoid saying “new year, new me” and you’re already on the right path.

1. Get Back Out There And Travel

It is time to get back out there in 2022. With COVID limiting what countries we can and cannot visit, we are desperately hoping that 2022 brings good fortune and open borders. A road trip a few hours from home or a complete backpacking trip across Europe or a city packed exploration of Tokyo, we’re here for any and all of it. Cooped up in our homes for far too long, if you can and are vaccinated, book a trip to take next year. Eyeing your dream vacation? 2022 is the year to take it. Where are you planning your vacation for?

2. Dress To Express

It is way past the point for any and everyone to be adhering to gender stereotypes and holding back how you would like to dress and express yourself because of these outdated societal rules to how we should dress. Make next year’s resolution to dress how you want to and make it a point to. Watch as your confidence soars with this resolution that won’t fall out of habit as the year goes on.

3. Live Unapologetically

To live unapologetically is to be genuine to who you are and not apologizing for it. We’ve all made mistakes, had low moments we aren’t proud of, but continuing to live in the past and punish ourselves for these mistakes far after they happened does no good to us. Make peace with your past and look towards the future to live a happier and more confident life. Embrace who you are as a person and don’t apologize for it! You’ll attract true friends who love you for who you are and have stronger relationships with those people. Stop trying to be someone you’re not just to fit into a certain crowd, it’s exhausting. Be true to yourself and as long as you don’t hurt anyone, why should be saying sorry so often? Make 2022 all about living unapologetically and watch as this changes your life for the better. Remember not everyone has to like you, because you for sure don’t like everybody, and that’s okay.

4. Take More Pictures

When we have kids, and when they have their own kids, having pictures to share our life stories is so important to have. Physical or digital, when we’re old, frail, saggy and wrinkly, having pictures to also remind us of our youth will keep us kicking for some time. Until our memory fades and we can no longer recognize ourselves in pictures. In 2022, make an effort to take an exorbitant amount pictures of memorable moments, fun times hanging out with friends and family, concerts, parties, whatever it may be. At the end of the year, it’ll be fun to look back on all of the pictures you took to remind yourself of the fun times you had during 2022.

5.  Live Life To The Fullest

Say yes to the date, the invitation from your friend, the trip with your family, having fun is what life should be about. Live life to the fullest this coming year, experiences are what gives our life meaning. Do what you want and don’t take no for an answer. You’re in charge of your own life, so you should lead it how you want to. Don’t ask permission from anybody, you’re an adult now, right. Want to drive to get coffee at 3 am with your friends and then see the sunrise? Do it? A late night trip to the beach with your S.O? Hell yeah. Say yes and see how much fun you’ll have in 2022.

6. Find A New Hobby And Stick To It

A plausible resolution for the new year is to find a new hobby and stick to it. Having something to do in your free time, something to do alone that you enjoy is healthy to have. It can be anything like reading, drawing, painting, running, jump roping, basically anything that you are drawn to. Endlessly scrolling through social media is not necessarily a hobby, or healthy to be doing often throughout the day. Find a new hobby for 2022 to change up your everyday routine, and when you feel like having alone time you won’t be bored trying to find something to do.

7. Less Social Media Usage

Make this year’s resolution to use social media less. With the update on Apple iPhones and other devices showing your daily screen time, it’s sort of scary to see just how often we’re on our phones everyday. Social media can be toxic at times – not good for mental health – and it can be good to have a digital detox every now and then. Spend less hours of your day looking down at your phone, and more hours looking up, having real conversation and fun with friends and family.

8. Spend More Time Outdoors

Get fresh air and explore the great outdoors in 2022. Look for hiking trails in your local area, or swim at the beach or lake. If you’re the outdoorsy type who just can’t get enough, make an effort to spend even more time doing what you love next year. A trip to Yosemite or Yellowstone, explore the great waterfalls in Hawaii, go rockclimbing in Arizona or hike down the Grand Canyon. We’re all about doing what you want this coming year.

9. Hangout With Your Parents More

When we all grow up, we tend to spend less and less time with our parents, especially during our teenage years when everything our parents’ say make us eyeroll. While we’re away at college we see them at breaks or if we come home on the weekends, and then we’ll start doing our own thing once we graduate and find a job. To get to the point, just see your family and hangout with your parents more. Chances are they miss you. The more you see them, the better relationship you should have with them. If you can’t see them, call them often and plan to see them as soon as possible. If it’s possible, being close with your family is a nice thing to have. Try for this in the next year.

10. Maximizing Self Care

Taking care of yourself can actually be a hard thing to do. But the benefits are extraordinary when actually put into practice. Lead a healthier lifestyle by maximizing self care and looking out for yourself in 2022; you’ll see yourself become the person you always wished to be.

As 2021 comes to an end, what do you hope 2022 will bring? Let us know which one of these ten plausible resolutions you’ll be making before the ball drops on midnight of December 31st.
