15 Makeup Gurus That You Need To Watch On YT

This article is going to share 15 makeup gurus that are killing it right now. This list also showcases makeup enthusiasts from varying skin tones and personalities.

1) Nicol Concilio

Nicol is a self-taught beauty blogger on YT. She has a gorgeous New Yorker accent that I love. Her makeup looks range from natural bronzy looks to bold and daring smokey eyes. Outside of her creative makeup skills, Nicol is also a great singer. She also hosts something called Skincare Sundays on her IG. This is where she shares her current favorite skincare products, which is great because a lot of people tend to forget that makeup is just as, if not more, important than makeup.

2) Jackie Aina

Jackie is one of the most outspoken YouTubers to discuss the makeup industry’s lack of diversity. She has used her platform as a makeup influencer to draw attention to these issues. She has even gone as far as to work with TooFaced in expanding their Born This Way foundation. Her channel displays different looks and makeup trends that black women can be a part of. The makeup in the past has been known for placing certain people that are different in a box. For example, it a makeup faux pas for black or dark-skinned women to wear makeup. The beauty community in the past has been notorious for telling women of a certain skin tone what they can and cannot do. She has broken through these barriers just by simply trying and doing whatever makeup she likes. This is important because it sends a message to her viewers that look like her that anything is possible, and you do not have to work yourself into a box. Her videos are also great when you need a little giggle. She has a sense of humor like no other.

3) easyNeon

Diana goes by easyNeon on YouTube. She has a style of videos that are very much her own. Her makeup videos are often short, little tidbits with some nice tunes in the background. She is someone who is not scared of colored. She has looks that showcase bold lips, bright eyeliner, and everything in between. If any of you pale beauties out there have a hard time finding a makeup guru to follow, she may be one for you to check out. Her artistry and work are amazing, so regardless of your skin tone, you will probably learn a thing or two from her.

4) Bailey Sarian

Bailey Sarian is an awesome and tatted makeup babe. She currently uploads every Monday and Saturday. If you have any interest in true crime-related topics, then you will love her Monday videos. Her Monday videos are called Murder, Mystery, Makeup Monday, which showcases certain cases that have caught her interest. While explaining the cases, she plays around with makeup. The contents can be quite heavy, so she always gives little disclaimers in the beginning as well as providing a respectful and tasteful retelling of these cases. Her Saturday videos are normal makeup videos if true crime isn’t your thing.

5) NikkieTutorials

She is one of the major pioneers in YouTube beauty guru history. She is known for making creative and editorial looks on YT and IG. Nikkie was born in the Netherlands, so she shares a “dutch word of the day” at the end of all her tutorials. So on top of learning how to do makeup, you are also learning Dutch.

6) Too Much Mouth

TooMuchMouth is another outspoken makeup content creator on YouTube.  Makeup is about creativity and experimenting with your look. She enforces this just by being herself and playing with makeup trends. This is important and great because it influences other people that look like her to do the same thing.

7) Angela Bright

Angela Bright has a great channel if you want to experiment with color, but you are unsure of where to start. Her channel shows mainly eyeshadow looks and nothing else. Her blending skills are impeccable. Around the holiday season, she has 25 Days of Tutorials on her channel, which illustrates 25 eye shadow makeup looks for 25 days out of December.

8) Alissa Ashley

Alissa Ashley is the queen of perfecting an eye shadow look with hooded eyes. She also has an old makeup series called Mystery Makeup Monday’s where she uses a wheel that spins to select her eye shadow colors. You quickly learn that Alissa can work with anything and pulls every color off very well. She also shares great tips on how to perfect your base makeup. Base makeup is the makeup on your overall face, like foundation, concealer, powder, etc.

9) Bretman Rock

Anybody can wear makeup, men included. Bretman Rock is an excellent example of that. He initially got a lot of popularity from his IG videos. He has an outrageous and fun personality, which is why he’s so well-liked.

10) Arnell Armon

Looks familiar? Arnell Armon is actually Alissa’s twin sister. Although they are identical, they have two distinct styles when it comes to makeup and their personal aesthetic. Arnell’s channel is full of wigs videos as well as makeup videos, which makes her channel very different from her sister, besides their different personalities.
