Iconic Places In LA You Need To Visit
Visiting Los Angles soon? You’re going to need a guide to show you were the good stuff is. Well since I’m here I’ll volunteer as tribute. Without further or do here are some iconic places in LA you need to visit.
1. Disneyland Park
Disneyland has to be the most iconic place in the entire world but we’re going to limit this discussion down to the Disneyland Park located in Anaheim, California. To anyone Disneyland is single handedly the best and most iconic place to visit during any season as it’s not just known for its name but it’s history. Disneyland Park was originally just Disneyland and is the first of two theme parks built at Disney resort California back in 1955. This location is the only park designed and built to completion under the supervision of Walt Disney himself. This magical iconic experience is filled with fun sites and adventures such as pictures with live characters, rides based on characters and movies, shows, and so many places to take memorable pictures with family or friends. Along with many great things to do, they also offer many great things to eat from breakfast to lunch to dinner and even dessert.
2. LACMA
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is second place for the most iconic location as this is the place people come to take those pictures on Instagram you see everywhere. This museum was founded in 1961 but was a part of the Los Angeles Museum of History and Art, relocated four years later to Wilshire Boulevard and designed by William Pereira. Something people might not have known is in 2020 four buildings were demolished, making room for a reconstructed facility designed by new designer Peter Zumthor. LACMA is the largest art museum on the west side, therefore it attracts millions every year. Some of the iconic attractions you might have seen or heard about are the Urban Lights and Rain Room.
3. Universal Studios
Universal Studios, also known as The Entertainment Capital of La, is Southern California’s magnetic entertainment, dining, shopping, movie based themed park, and city walk destination. Universe Studios is located in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California with 425 acres of land. This iconic capital is more than just what it seems on the outside, iconic rides you’ve seen on TV and heard your friends talk about are all thriving attractions people from all over come to see. Some attractions and rides you might have heard of are The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which contains one of the more recent iconic rides Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff. This theme park truly delivers when it comes to giving a show literally and figuratively. Another popular attraction in the park is The Simpsons ride, which is a fun and entertaining appropriate way to showcase the brilliance of the animated show.
4. Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica Pier is located in Santa Monica, California and is considered one of the most iconic places in La for a countless amount of reasons but the three main reasons this place is so iconic is for one, the location. Anyone familiar with Santa Monica will immediately know about the Pier as it connects to the beach, so you have the option of switching between locations if you get hungry or decide you want to play arcade games. Not only is the Pier located in the perfect iconic area, but lots of movies and tv shows have filmed scenes at this location. Hancock, Iron Man, Her, and even classics like Forrest Gump. Lastly Santa Monica Piers is one of the top picture destinations, with beautiful spots to be photographed during the day, and beautiful light displays and glistening oceans at night. Creating the perfect pictures or memories won’t be hard here
5. The Broad
The Broad is a classic contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles that offers free general admission and rotating exhibits. The Broad was designed by architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro. The building design was based on a concept titled “The veil and the vault”, which is the envelope that wraps around the whole building, filtering and transmitting daylight indoors. This iconic museum is three stories and features 50,000 square feet of exhibit space! The Broad also includes a Latin restaurant in it’s plaza called Otium, which was helped developed by Bill Chait of the dashing five star restaurant’s Republique and Bestia. This museum is very diverse and the art work ranges from tons of different people who want to showcase their visions through their work. Rather you’re visiting with family or friends, either way you’re going to have a great time.
6. Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a tourist attraction located in Vine St on Hollywood Boulevard, California. Hollywood credits E.M. Stuart with the iconic original idea of creating the iconic Walk of Fame. As of 2020, The Walk of Fame had more than 2,290 stars spaced six feet apart stretching from Gower Street down to Hollywood and La Brea Gateway. Aside from the stars, there are plenty of places to visit such as clothing, merchandise, and shoe stores, a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and even attraction stores like The Genius World Records Museum. With much to do Universal City Walk, this is the perfect location to spend your weekend or a great place to check out if you’re visiting from another state or country.
7. Rodeo Drive
Rodeo Drive is one of the most exclusive shopping destinations, as it’s a two mile long street located in Beverly Hills, California. Back in 1977, Rodeo Drive Committee launched a world’s famous publicity campaign designed to make everyone think Rodeo Drive was a shopping street for the rich and famous. Apparently the RDC wanted to make Rodeo Drive an economic engine for Beverly Hills and spread the image of an exclusive lifestyle, and it worked. Today we all know Rodeo Drive as a Luxury fashion district famous for designer labels and haute couture fashion. Through the years, the locals of Beverly Hills, including the hidden hill residents come down from their multi million dollar houses to shop for luxury goods for their day to day lifestyle. You can find iconic and luxury stores like Dior, Chanel, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and any other luxury store you can think of.
8. Downtown LA
The last iconic place to visit in LA is Downtown LA. Downtown Los Angeles is comprised of diverse smaller areas like Little Tokyo and the Art District, is the hub for the city’s urban rail transit system, the Pacific Surfliner, and Metrolink rail system for Southern California. What makes Downtown such an iconic place is the fact that you don’t know what you’re going to run into, rather it be Grand Central Market, LA Live, Grand Park, and even an escape room. The area is just so busy and active throughout all times of the day because Downtown has it all when it comes to entertainment. The world’s famous Grammy Museum is housed in Downtown, along with the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Staple Center, Regal Cinemas, LA live, and way more iconic locations. Along with all the Museums, you’ll be able to find a restaurant or tavern at every corner so there’s no going hungry. Some of the restaurants in the area include Nickel Diner, Clifton’s, The Counter, the list goes on and on.
