10 Healthy Snacks To Keep Around The House

Healthy snacks aren’t always the first things to cross our minds when we are wondering the aisles of the grocery store. If you are wanting to watch what you are eating then it is important to always have some snacks around the house that are both tasty and good for you. These snacks are even perfect to grab if you need something on the go. Next time you go to the grocery store make sure to pick up a few of these snacks to keep your kitchen stocked with good healthy choices.

1. Avocado

Avocados are rich in vitamins like A, B6, C, E and K. So not only are they tasty but they will provide your body with some much needed vitamins and healthy fats. Make avocado toast or even guacamole if just a simple avocado doesn’t do it for you!

2. Dark chocolate

If you have a major sweet tooth and chocolate is your go to, consider changing up your normal option with dark chocolate. Dark chocolate gives you that fix but is a much healthier option as opposed to milk chocolate or regular candy. Some studies have even shown it increases brain productivity!

3. Fruit

Fruit is a staple for healthy eating. The best thing about fruit is that there are so many options to choose from. Whether it is a whole fruit like a banana, apple or peach or a bowl of mixed fruit, this is a great option as far as healthy snacks go.

4. Plain popcorn

Microwave popcorn can’t exactly be described as healthy but don’t worry that doesn’t mean all popcorn is out. Try buying plain popcorn without all the butter or even pop your own at home.

5. Nuts

Nuts are a great afternoon snack. They provided a lot of protein that will give you the midday boost that you need to finish out strong.

6. Hummus

Hummus is tasty and healthy, sounds perfect!! This nutrient rich snack goes well with pita chips or vegetables.

7. Veggies

Just like fruit, vegetables is a healthy snack staple. There are so many vegetables to choose from and so many ways to eat them. Just like I mentioned earlier, they pair well with hummus and many other dips. Carrots, snap peas and celery are easy and tasty options to snack on.
