As a new season approaches, so does the desire to experiment with new and different hairstyles. Fall looks can be so versatile, and there are a large variety of styles for all hair types. Below is a list of 10 hairstyles that are perfect for Autumn.
The bob is a classic, go-to haircut, and there is wiggle room with lengths to choose from. Short bobs can go up as high as base of your earlobes, medium length bobs typically rest on the tops of your shoulders, and lobs (long bobs) are down to the middle of your chest. Textured bobs add a bit of flare to your hair, and are easier to achieve if you do not like to wash your hair every day. Half up, half down is an easy hairstyle if you don’t necessarily want to commit to a full updo or want to leave your hair fully down. This is a nice way to keep most of your hair out of your face, and can be thrown together quickly if you are in a rush. Buns and ponytails look equally cute in half up and half down styles.
Ah, the messy bun. Anyone with long hair can attest to the wonders of the messy bun. Whether you truly are just throwing you hair together in a messy bun, or you are attempting a more “stylized” look, this hairstyle is another great go to if you are aiming for a casual appearance; or if you just don’t have time to allot to styling your hair.
Braids are wonderful for all hair types and textures. This is another very versatile hairstyle as there are a bunch of different braid types to try. Regular three section braids, french braids, fishtail, dutch braids, braided bun, braided crown. For more natural hair and textured hair types, there are beautiful box braids, Goddess braids, yarn braids, micro braids, Ghana braids, Marley twists, Senegalese twists, and so many more.
A French twist is a casual, yet sophisticated hairstyle. Besides a few pull away hairs in the front, this is another nice way to get the rest of your hair out of your face. Play around and create texture by gently pulling out different parts of the twist to add volume and movement.
Bun mohawks are very popular right now, and they’re a very fun hairstyle to play with. Make the buns as puffy, or as tight as you wish. Experiment with different numbers of buns and the placements of them on your head.
Another great hairstyle for those with natural and textured hair are Bantu knots. These knots give off major 90’s vibes, and keep your hair out of your face. Feel free to add clips or other accessories to make these knots pop even more.
Slicked back hair is great all year round, and especially in the fall along with some business attire. Keep those locks pushed back to expose more of your gorgeous face to the world.
Silk headscarfs work as great accessories to give you a few different hairstyle options. Use them as a bandana over the top of your hair, or fold it underneath and wrap it around some curls to keep them atop your head. You can even braid the scarf into your hair or tie it into a beautiful head wrap. The possibilities are endless.
