10 Grown Up Gifts You Need This Christmas

Every year we all get a little bit older, and that much further away from childhood. Virtually all of us as kids were always excited for Christmas, and couldn’t wait for Christmas morning when we would all get to open our presents. We would cross our fingers and hope that we got everything on our Christmas list, and that Santa had deemed us good that year. But, as the years went by, toys were replaced by clothes, music, shoes, etc. Now, as full-grown adults, a lot of us always ask the question, what do I want for Christmas this year? These 10 grown up gifts are ideal for everyday use, and are gifts that you definitely need this Christmas.

1. Instant Pot Duo Nova

Let’s be honest here, life would be so much simpler if you had an Instant Pot in your kitchen. This sweet little gadget from Kohl’s can basically do it all. If you want yogurt, then there’s a yogurt setting right on the front. Craving a cheesecake? No problem! This 7-in-1 Instant Pot can accommodate you. This is a perfect grown up gift for those of us who may not be as handy in the kitchen or have limited time on our hands, but still want to make delicious meals. And with this being the newest model, the display on the front is now even easier to read, plus it’s a lovely shade of blue! You can’t go wrong with this grown up gift, and you’ll soon forget that your stove and oven even existed in the first place.

2. Picture Frames

I realize that most of us keep our pictures on our phones and computers, but it’s nice to have physical pictures around too. Having framed pictures can make your house or apartment that much more homey feeling, and can add a hint of personality to your living space. This metal heart picture frame from Michael’s is a great grown up gift for those who want to keep their loved ones close. The detailed hearts on this frame are so sweet, with some having small imitation diamonds set in the middle. The picture frame comes in two different sizes, 5×7 and 4×6. There’s absolutely nothing to not love about this picture frame!

3. Throw Pillows

Most of us have couches, or at least something close to a couch, and a lot of the time couches can look so bare and lonely. Most look like they’re lacking personality and style. Throw pillows are the perfect way to spice up the look of your couch, and add some of that desperately needed creativity you didn’t realize you were looking for. These white and grey detailed throw pillows from Kohl’s are exactly the grown up gift that you need. Since they’re neutral colored pillows, they will tastefully complement a majority of couches; can you say win? Plus, the covers on each pillow are removable and machine washable. So, if you accidentally spill a little bit of wine after a tough day at work, no worries, just throw it in the wash! These throw pillows are the perfect décor for your couch.

4. Cookie Jar

Who says your kitchen counter can’t have some cute character added to it? Cookie jars are ideal for those of us who love to bake! And what better place to store your delicious goodies in than this brown bear cookie jar from Macy’s? This is one grown up gift that we all need occupying our kitchens this year. The cookie jar is so adorable in the way that the bear sits, while surrounded by a bit of forest foliage. And even if you don’t bake that often, this cookie jar bear still makes a wonderful décor addition to your kitchen. At the very least, this little guy will help keep you company while you cook!

5. Espresso Maker

Now, most adults already have their coffee makers, but what about an espresso maker? It’s time to step up your coffee game in the morning! Espresso machines are an ideal grown up gift because they work a lot faster than coffee makers do, and since it’s concentrated coffee, the taste isn’t watered down. This DēLonghi espresso maker from Target makes some of the most amazing single and double espresso shots! Plus, this nifty little machine has a manual frother on it for those perfect lattes and cappuccinos. On a personal level, I honestly have no idea how I would even survive without my espresso maker! Let me tell you, that baby has gotten me through some pretty rough mornings. This is one grown up gift that’ll make sure you get up on the right side of the bed in the a.m.

6. Cast Iron Grill

Cast iron grills are the perfect addition to the kitchen for any blooming chef. These handy pans work great if you live somewhere that doesn’t allow grills or if you just never decided to buy one. I’ll be honest, grills are a big responsibility, and aren’t for everyone. This cast iron grill from Bed Bath & Beyond works great for year-round cooking! If you’re craving a nice juicy steak in the dead of winter, then you can easily grill one up right on your stove. Cast iron is one of the superior ways to cook because it has the perfect even heat distribution, and can take on high temperatures without becoming damaged (yes, that means you can throw it in the oven with no worries). This is an awesome grown up gift that’ll last you a lifetime!

7. Decorative Hand Towels

If you want to show that you have matured since reaching adulthood, then hand towels are the ideal way to achieve that. Now, it may seem silly, but it’s true. I didn’t really start feeling like an adult until I got my own place (with my now husband), and was able to start putting my personal touches on it. And I took some inspiration from my parents of what they had, decorative hand towels being one of them, and applied it to my own home. These simple, yet elegant white hand towels from Amazon are a great grown up gift for this Christmas. The intricate soft cream-colored design in the center adds to its sophistication. You can’t go wrong with these hand towels, and they will prove to not just your parents, but everyone else, that you truly have grown up.

8. Knife Set

Knife sets are super important when it comes to spending time in the kitchen. I use my set several times a day! I remember when I got my first full knife set and how excited, not to mention mature, it made me feel. I couldn’t wait to get home and proudly display it on the kitchen counter. Here is a beautifully crafted knife set from Kohl’s that’ll add a splash of color to your kitchen. The handles of these knives mimic the look of red marble, while the blades are stainless steel. This knife set just screams grown up gift, and would make an exceptional addition to your kitchen this season.

9. Dinnerware Set

Yes, we all have plates, bowls, cups, etc. but how many of them actually match? These are usually dinnerware items that you’ve collected over the years since the start of college; it’s time to move on and put them away for good. This dinnerware set from Bed Bath & Beyond is an ideal grown up gift that you need this year. The set is simple and elegant white porcelain, and includes all of the essentials, including cups and saucers (now, that’s fancy!). This is a grown up gift that you will use every single day, and leave you more than delighted that you have such a beautiful dinnerware set.

10. Hand Soap Dispensers

One great way to save money, especially if you’re on a budget, is with hand soap dispensers for each of your sinks. This is a perfect way to also add some character to your bathrooms and kitchen. You can finally stop buying those disposable hand soaps, and own lasting ones that you can keep for years to come. These dimpled glass hand soap dispensers from Amazon are a colorful way to spruce up your kitchen and bathrooms! And if you don’t wish to use them as hand soap dispensers, they can also be used for shampoo, conditioner or your favorite bubble bath. It may not be the most exciting grown up gift, but you’ll sure get your use out of them!

Which of these grown up gifts are you going to give this year? Which ones are you going to buy for yourself? Tell us in the comments below!
