Prom gown dresses are gorgeous and with so many colors and styles to choose from, it can be hard to find the right one for you. Not to worry, you have come to the right place! Below you’ll find all of the trendy and sweet styles that you will need to buy ASAP! Most of these styles can be found on online platforms and popular online boutiques, but you can also head to your local mall, as they should have a decent selection. This spring 2020 will have you dancin’ in style and the first step to ease the prom stress is by picking a dress. But believe me, this can take weeks. My high school even had a prom group, to prevent any of the girls from wearing the same dress at prom. Try not to stress, though, it is only one night. Enjoy!
1. Dark Green
When it comes to prom gowns, I absolutely love this color/ trend. I have dirty blonde hair and green eyes, so I love wearing this color, but not everyone does. Perfectly paired with a french manicure, this dress is a must-have. The good news is, you won’t need to travel far to find it. Most websites like Lulus, Nordstrom Rack, Hautelook, or Rue Lala will have it for a relatively inexpensive price. There is something so beautiful and unique about this color, and I truly love it. Because colors like pink are just so expected, right?
2. Royal Blue
When I think of spring prom gowns, I always think of bright colors. Nothing says spring like a bright, fresh pop of color like royal blue. You may have seen the popular sparkle on the chest and blue on the gown portion, and those are still in! Shop royal blue gowns at stores near you, or shop popular websites online. Be sure to add some earrings and strappy wedges! This color is sure to compliment you no matter what your skin tone or hair color. Let the color do the talking!
Coral is such a beautiful color for prom. Not to mention, it will make your skin look naturally darker, so it may save you a trip to your local salon for a spray tan. Coral is the perfect combination of orange and pink, and with many dress styles to choose from, give this one some thought! At my high school, many of the girls were searching for dresses that no one else would have. For sure this one is it! Put it on, and watch the eyes stop and stare at you.
4. Red Sparkly
I mean, who doesn’t love the color red for a prom gown? The color red automatically translates to sexy. So, blow your prom date away, as well as everyone else at prom. Pair with silver jewelry, you will be surely the center of attention. Most standard retail stores offer this color but if not, you can definitely order it online.
This color is drop-dead gorgeous! Any skin-tone, hair type, or accessory will look stunning with this color. It may take some searching to find this because it is not the most common in your local stores, but trust me when I say, it is worth the hunt. Sexy and eloquent, you have the best of both worlds, all in one gown. This spring, try something different by wearing this gorgeous blue shade, turquoise. There are so many shades of blue that can be worn, but this sure is a pretty selection!
6. Light Pink
When it comes to prom gown dresses, certain colors and styles will never fade. Light pink, is one of them. The time of prom is obviously in the spring, and you will really be dressing accordingly. I am personally not a fan of when girls wear black to a prom, but that’s just me, and if you are someone who loves pastel colors, go for it girl! Prom is your time to express yourself, through fashion!
If you want to try a different style at prom, but are unsure what, consider this! The high to low dress style is cute, trendy, and you are sure to make a statement. Shop gowns that range from floral to solid color, and you won’t be spending a fortune. The tricky thing with these types of dresses is that you probably have to shop online. But hey, online shops usually have more of a selection, ensuring you’ll get just what you want. No wonder why malls are going out of business!
I’m sure this style is not new to you, but give it a shot at this year’s prom. You’ll be sure to turn some heads, and this two-piece style comes in many different colors and patterns. You could even choose a dress with sparkles on the top piece, and a solid color on the dress piece. Whatever you choose, just know that these are super pretty and worth every penny! I believe you can still get these types of gowns at Macy’s or Nordstrom but if not, try online websites like Lulus.
This year, try a different style with a light shade of yellow for your prom gown. Simple, classy, but beautiful on anyone, you won’t regret this purchase! I think the shade yellow is perfect with girls who have brown hair, because my hair being a shade of blonde already, will just blend in. Step out of your comfort zone with this pretty shade! Shop Nordstrom, Macy’s, or online shops like Promgirl for further selection and pricing.
