It’s hard to believe that fall is already almost here. All across the country the leaves start changing colors, it gets colder, pumpkins are everywhere… except for in L.A.
In Los Angeles we are lucky to have great weather year-round. But sometimes the weather can help us get into the autumn mood which can be challenging when the temperature only drops about 2 degrees. To help get you into the fall spirit (despite the temperature), here are 8 fun autumnal things to do in L.A. this fall!
1. See An Outdoor Movie
Since we are living in Los Angeles, we can go outside year-round without having to worry about possible rain or snow storms! Take advantage of the weather this fall and go to an outdoor theater!
Until October 19, Street Food Cinema is showing films on a huge outdoor screen! This is an awesome thing to do with your friends because not only are you getting entertainment, but there is also an assortment of food from local food trucks and even live-performances until it gets dark out!
Catch your favorite movies on the big screen including Mean Girls, The Breakfast Club, Monster’s Inc., Bridesmaids, Beetlejuice, and The Addams Family Values along with many more! Grab tickets now and see the full schedule here.
2. Go To The Beach With Your Furry Friend
Again, since the weather is always perfect, you can still go to the beach even in the fall! While the rest of the world is fighting the dropping temperatures, you can bring your furry friend to the beach for So Cal Corgi Beach Day.
On October 26, Huntington Beach will be holding their semiannual Corgi Beach Day. Even if you don’t have a Corgi to bring along, it is still fun to see all the fur babies in their festive outfits and partake in the fun activities!
3. Go To A Museum (Backstreet Edition)
Los Angeles has Hollywood and that means awesome museums. Unlike other museums, L.A. is always cycling through different exhibits and always has the most unique and fun viewing activities. One of these experiences is the new Backstreet Boys exhibit at the Grammy Museum!
From now until September 2, live your best life and see the exhibit dedicated to the boys who you had your very first crush on. This museum will feature costumes and props from the past three decades that made this boy band one of the most iconic!
4. See The Jonas Brothers In Concert
Speaking of iconic boy bands, the Jonas Brothers are back and better than ever! From October 6 through December 15, the trio will be back on the road! This is the perfect opportunity to see the band if you didn’t get to years ago, and experience the concert with true die-hard fans!
Joe, Nick, and Kevin will all be headlining at the Hollywood Bowl this fall with the support of other huge names Bebe Rexha and Jordan McGraw. Get your tickets now before it’s too late!
5. Go To A Halloween Themed Festival
Here in L.A., Halloween is all fall long. Starting in September and going until November 3, Universal Studios in Hollywood will kicking off the spooky season with Halloween Horror Nights! Deemed one of the best Halloween festivals in L.A., Universal Studios has featured huge films and TV shows in the past such as Poltergeist and The Purge.
This year, the park has announced mazes featuring Stranger Things and The Walking Dead (more to be announced) with a total of 10 new mazes to go through in the park. The park also has 5 “scare zones” where you will find yourself never wanting to leave! Tickets sell fast so buy your’s now!
6. Ohana Music Festival
Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind, so bring everyone! From September 27 through September 29, see some of your favorite bands at the Ohana Music Festival at Dana Point!

7. Support Local Artists
Sometimes we feel better buying something from the actual creator than buying something in the store. This fall, you can do just that! Until December 21, support local artists on Abbot Kinney in Venice and do any last minute Christmas shopping you forgot to do!
This flea market has everything from cosmetics to art to jewelry and more. If you get hungry while you shop, stop by one of the food trucks and grab something yummy to snack on and get your energy back up!
8. Wine & Dine (and Hike)
There’s nothing better than a cold glass of wine after a long hike. This fall until October 20, take a hike through Malibu vineyards where you will end the day with some wine tasting and musical performances with Malibu Wine Hikes: Musical Hike and Sunset Performance!
This is a perfect first date idea or a fun thing to do with family or friends! The views are fantastic but the memories and experiences will be unbeatable!
