Labor Day is the last holiday to end a fun and crazy summer. This is the last chance to get in any pool parties, barbecues and waterpark visits. In Colorado, the weather turns to fall with a snap of a finger after Labor Day. Check out these 8 festive Labor Day desserts to make the most of  your final summer barbecue.

1. Patriotic Rice Snacks

Rice Krispies are always a hit among kids and adults. These dessert snacks are super easy to make with the option to use store-bought Rice Krispies. To dress up those Krispies you’re going to need some red, white and blue candy melts. Once the candy melts are warmed up, dip each Rice Krispie in half way to get them fully coated. You have the ability to get creative with this dessert. The decorations is where gets really festive. Add some star shaped sprinkles to the chocolate dipped Rice Krispie and you now have a super festive dessert that’s fun and easy to eat.

2. Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

Take advantage of those strawberries while it’s still in season. For this dessert you only need a couple crates of strawberries, instant cheesecake mix and a couple crates of blueberries. This dessert is quite simple but very delicious and festive for Labor Day. Cut the top off the strawberries and gently hollow them out. This will act as a sweet vessel for the cheesecake mix. To garnish those strawberries, add one little blueberry and voila, now you have a tasty and festive dessert.

You can eat this fruit salsa with a spoon but if you want to get a little more adventurous—sopapilla chips would be super delicious to dip into this fresh fruit salsa. You can buy sopapilla chips at the store but if you wanted to make them by scratch it is quite easy. All you need is flour tortillas and canola oil. Deep fry those tortilla triangles—once those chips are golden brown take them out and shake them in a cinnamon and sugar mixture. This festive dessert is perfect to celebrate Labor Day weekend.
