With September just 4 days away, fall internships will be starting soon. I already gave tips and rules on how to dress to impress in the office as an intern (check them out here), which will never go out of style. But now that we get to wear our fall wardrobes, I’m back to give you some more inspiration for how to stand out at your new fall internship! All of these looks are from Express, which has a ton of great clothes that can be worn in the office but also translate to a night out! And, Express is currently having a 40% off of everything in the store sale! Combine that with the 5% cash back from Studentrate to get huge savings!
You can pair either of these dresses with a nice cardigan if it’s cool, but blue and black are going to be super big colors this fall. Pairing a nice blouse with a pencil skirt or even dark jeans (if your workplace is on the more casual end), is always a good look.
A simple pencil skirt paired with a sweater is a classic look, or edge it up a little by wearing a flare skirt. I love the red and black striped sweater with that skirt, and a classic black cardigan with color jeans or pants is perfect for class or work.
If your workplace is more business than casual, you can find really cute suits and suit pants at Express (and while they’re on sale, they are super affordable!). The best part is you can the buy the suit as a whole, or buy each piece separately. Can’t go wrong with a black or tan blazer paired with one of the skirts above, or these dress pants paired with a sweater.
Can’t forget shoes! Flats are more comfortable to wear than heels and look great with jeans (plus, if you go with the blue, you’ll add a nice pop of color!). Those print heels would be a nice touch to a black and white suit, or you could go with the tasteful leather pumps. And since fall is here, it’s time for booties! Pair with a skirt or even jeans if you can. And the leather boots would be a nice addition to a pair of skinny jeans or even a colored skirt and cardigan.
For the more casual office, you can find great pairs of skinny jeans here in any wash (though I think dark is the easiest to dress up). And I love the way that red skirt adds some color to the black and white portofino shirt.
So even if you are stuck in an office all day and can’t be as fun and creative with your clothing choices, you can still look and feel good! And don’t forget some accessories to help add style and flair to your outfits. A statement necklace would look great with that black suit. And be sure to check out all these styles and more at Express during their 5 Days to Save sale! I wouldn’t want to miss getting 40% off at the store!
