10 Easy Crockpot Recipes Anyone Can Make

A slow-cooker, or as it’s more popularly known, a crockpot (which, let’s be honest, is a lot more fun to say than ‘slow-cooker’) is used for preparing that evenings dishes hours in advance, right before you head off to work or school. Here are ten easy crockpot recipes anyone can make. (To be clear, this list will have the reasons why these choices are on here. There’ll be links to the actual recipes in the descriptions.)

1. CUBAN SANDWICH

Really, who could say no to a good sandwich? Taking about 6 1/2 hours  to accomplish, the most trouble you’ll have is preparing the mixture that’s supposed to go on top of it. Or maybe actually making the sandwich after the boneless pork is ready? Either way, this recipe isn’t difficult at all, thanks to ‘Food Network’, especially for first timers. This has 6 to 8 servings, so depending on the size of the sandwich, you may only want to invite one or two people. This is one of the best easy crockpot recipes.

2. BANANA NUT OATMEAL

That’s right, crockpots can be used for breakfast. (I was just as surprised as you when I found out.) Anyway, the easiest recipe on this list, courtesy of ‘The Recipe Rebel’, this is a dish that you can prepare before you go to bed, and have cooking done by the time you wake up. Stir the ingredients before and after, serve with bananas, and you have yourself a healthy breakfast. Simple as that.

3. CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP

A filling Mexican dish, the chicken tortilla soup is a favorite for many. Courtesy of ‘Country Living,’ the recipe takes about 8 and a half hours to complete (the average time, it seems, for crockpot recipes), and can serve 4 people. While you do need to add some ingredients to the crockpot near the end of the cooking time, what comes before should be easy enough to do.

4. MEXAJITA CHICKEN

Another Mexican-style dish, this is a great choice for those looking for something a little spicy. This recipe actually has a small amount of ingredients, and can be completed in only 35 minutes. Perfect for setting the table while you wait for the chicken to cook, or to do some other small chores. This dish serves only four though, so if anyone want seconds, you may need to make this more than once. This is one of the easy crockpot recipes we love!

5. LENTIL SAUSAGE SOUP

Another low maintenance recipe, thanks once again to ‘The Recipe Rebel,’ the Lentil Sausage Soup can be prepared in only a few steps. Dump all the necessary ingredients into the crockpot, stir until ready, wait 8 hours, and you are done! Serve with lime wedges and yogurt.

6. JAMBALAYA

From the south of the U.S., this classic New Orleans dish is perfect for those looking for a good, casual meal for the family. Taking 6 and a half hours to cook, this recipe can serve 6 people, and if you want, add three jalapeños if you want something really spicy. There a lot of hot ingredients in this recipe, but thanks to ‘Creme De La Crumb,’ you’ll know how to handle them.

7. POT ROAST

Crockpot. Pot roast. I had to, it’s in the name. A good main entree for dinner, this recipe is one of the longer and more challenging recipes on this list, as it can take close to 9 hours to complete, but it does serve 8 to 10 people, and ‘Food Network,’ once again, gives easy to follow instructions. I highly recommend you put this dish in the crockpot before you head off the class or work. If you do so, know your timing and schedule. This is one of our favorite easy crockpot recipes.

8. FRENCH DIP SANDWICHES

I like sandwiches, in case it wasn’t obvious. Thanks to the food blog ‘Bake. Eat. Repeat.’, these French Dip Sandwiches have earned their spot on this list…well, mostly because of the name. ‘French Dip.’ How can I say no to that? Anyway, this recipes takes about 10 1/2 hours to complete. While the wait time may be long, the actual preparation and finishing steps are pretty easy. While the soggy bread may be a turn off for some, this is one recipe you might come back to repeatedly.

9. ROAST BEEF SANDWICH

This is the last sandwich I’ll put on the list, I promise! (I really like sandwiches.)  Taking a prep time of only half an hour, and a roast time of 8 hours, this is another recipe, thanks to ‘Country Living,’ one where all the real work goes into preparing for the roast. Once you apply the oil and cook the roast beef for a few minutes, you’re ready to dump it and the rest of the ingredients into the crockpot. Now you have 4 servings of roast beef sandwiches. Yummy.

10. PEACH COBBLER

You heard me. Peach Cobbler. Didn’t think you could make dessert with a crockpot, could you? Anyway, this dish takes only 3 1/2 hours to cook, and serves 4 to 6 people. Follow the recipe provided, courtesy of ‘Food Network’ once again, and once you’re done, you can serve it right then and there! Enjoy.
