10 DIY Gifts For Your Boyfriend

DIY gifts are some of the most thoughtful and personal gifts out there. Men are hard to shop for in the first place, so why not get crafty and make the perfect personalized gift for your significant others. Here are 10 DIY gifts to make any boyfriend smile!

1. Date Jar

We know the majority of men are terrible at planning dates on a whim, so why not make your man a DIY date jar. All you need is popsicle sticks, a sharpie, and a mason jar. Use different colors of sticks to represent different date categories, but whether you split up by price, type of date or something else is completely up to you. With this jar, you and your boy will never run out of ideas!

2. “Open When” Gifts

This DIY gift is a twist on the infamous “Open When” letters. Instead of just writing letters, add a small gift to each. You could create an “Open When You Miss Me” and include a framed photo of the two of you. Your man will appreciate the never-ending gifts and the encouragement throughout the year.

3. Memory Box

These are typically seen filled with tickets from movies you’ve seen together. Take it a step further and make it a box of all the places you have been together, with a way to add more. This could be tickets to ballgames, movies, amusement parks or zoos. You could also include map locations of big events, such as your first kiss or where he asked you out.

4. Tie Blanket

Tie blankets are one of the most common DIY gifts, but they’re also one of the most thoughtful. Decide what your man likes best. Could be sports, comic books, or really anything else. They make fleece printed with just about anything you could imagine! If you’re feeling really generous, make the blanket two-sided so he can decide what kind of mood he’s in today. This gift also benefits you because it gives him a reason to cuddle up and use his gift!

5. Love Coupon Book

While not a hands-on DIY gift from you, this Love Coupon book is sure to be a hit with your boyfriend. LoveCoups allows you to personalize your characters, choose a cover page, and decide which kind of coupons you want to include. These coupons are best used for things he likes to do, but you’re not so fond of. It will make the gift even more special! You can also DIY this with some construction paper and markers.

6. “I Love You” Message Board

This DIY is perfect if you live apart. When you get to visit, write him a little message on the board to read while you’re gone. All you need to make this is a frame, fancy scrapbook paper and a way to either print or write “I love you” on it. Find an Expo marker that is lying around the house and you’re set!

7. “For Him” Basket

A gift like this is perfect to not only surprise him with his favorite things but also to show him how well you know him. It could include his favorite snacks, a favorite game, some shampoo and body wash, or anything else you know he likes. The best way to do this is to buy a bunch of smaller inexpensive gifts. He will love how thoughtful this gift is.

8. Travel Map

A travel map is perfect for those couples who have a bucket list of places they want to go together. Get a corkboard and a map of the world to glue onto it. The best part is, you can use either push pins or photos for two different versions of this DIY. My suggestion is to find a push pin from each place you visit, something that relates to that location and use it as your pin on the map. This way, you not only mark where you’ve been but you have a souvenir as well!

9. 365 Day Note Jar

365 is a lot of notes to come up with, but it should be easy for someone you really love! Like the Date jar, you could separate these into categories such as “Things I Love About You,” “Quotes,” or ” Memories and Special Moments.” This DIY gift allows you to give your man a present day after day for an entire year. He will really apreciate the thought and effort you put into this one.

10. Exploding Love Box

While this DIY gift is definitely the most time consuming and difficult one of all DIY gifts, it’s also the one guaranteed to get the sweetest reaction out of your man. An exploding love box is exactly what it sounds like; a box that “explodes” when opened. You can fill the pages of this box with just about anything from pictures, to memories, to ticket stubs, etc. They are so many tutorials online for these boxes and some websites even offer templates to cut down on crafting time!

Your boyfriend will love his gift no matter what you get him, but DIY gifts are so heartfelt that he’ll know how much you love and appreciate him. What DIY gift are you going to try? Comment below!
