5 Different Ways To Make Hamburgers Taste Delicious

The summer is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for putting burgers on the grill again. But how exactly do you make the perfect burger for grilling? I am here to help you go through the different ways to make hamburgers and find out!

1. Copycat In-N-Out Cheeseburgers

This is a copycat version of the food chain, In-N-Out’s, cheeseburgers. So, out of all the different ways to make hamburgers, this is going to be a good one to try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 small yellow onion, grated about 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices of American cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns

Secret Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons of dill pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika

Steps:

1. Secret sauce: Mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, and paprika in a bowl. Refrigerate until you use it.

2. To make the burgers: In a medium bowl, add the ground beef, egg white, grated onion, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, and pepper. Using your hands, or a fork, gently mix it together. Shape the mixture into 6 thin patties. Place the patties on the grill or in a skillet and cook until no longer pink on the inside, about 3-5 minutes for each side. Place a slice of American cheese over each burger during the last minute of grilling.

3. Spread the secret sauce over the inside of each bun before placing the burger on the bottom bun. Top with some lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Enjoy!

2. Classic Burger

This recipe only calls for a few ingredients to make a juicy burger. Out of the different ways to make hamburgers, this is another way you have to try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of 80% lean, 20% fat ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 4 slices of cheese, your choice
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Any other toppings you want

Steps:

1. Preheat the grill to 375 degrees, medium-high.

2. In a large bowl, add the beef. Sprinkle evenly with the Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until they are just combined.

3. Divide the meat mixture into fourths. Take 1/4 of the meat mixture and use your hands to press it into the shape of a hamburger patty that is about 3/4-inch thick. Make an indentation in the middle of the patty to prevent bulging in the center of the hamburger as it cooks. Repeat with the remaining mixture so you have 4 patties.

4. Place the burgers on the grill. Cook 4-5 minutes on the first side, flip and cook an additional 4-5 minutes until the burgers have reached their desired color. If you are adding cheese, place a slice of cheese on each burger for about a minute before taking them off the grill so it melts.

5. Serve the hamburgers on buns with any toppings you want to include. Enjoy!

3. All-American Burger

This is the typical burger you see in restaurants when a cheeseburger is on the menu. Of the different ways to make hamburgers, this is a must-try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons of chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of prepared mustard
  • 4 slices of American cheese, halved diagonally
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese, halved diagonally
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • Optional: lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, sliced onion, cooked bacon strips, ketchup, and mustard

Steps:

1. Combine the ground beef, chopped onion, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and prepared mustard, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape into four patties.

2. Grill burgers, covered, on an oiled rack over medium direct heat until a thermometer reads 160 degrees and juices run clear, about 6 minutes on each side.

3. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with two triangles of American cheese and 1 triangle of Swiss cheese. Serve on buns.

4. As desired, top with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, ketchup, and mustard. Enjoy!

3. Serve burgers on the toasted buns with the desired toppings and condiments.

5. Instant Pot Burgers

This is nice on a cold or rainy day when you can’t use the grill. Of all the different ways to make hamburgers, this is a way you need to try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • Your favorite ground beef seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • Hamburger buns
  • Hamburger toppings, like cheese, tomatoes, lettuce

Steps:

1. Season the ground beef according to your liking. Either make the burgers and then season, or season and then make the burgers.

2. Using a hamburger press or your hands, shape the beef into 4 patties. Wrap each patty in parchment paper. Place each patty in the instant pot on the trivet.

3. Place the lid onto the instant pot and seal shut. Close the pressure release valve. Set the instant pot to manual, high pressure for 10 minutes. When cooking is complete, quick release the steam and very carefully open the pot.

4. Remove the hamburgers using tongs and serve immediately. If you are adding cheese, do that quickly so it melts before you serve the burger.
