Color Trends For 2019 You Need To Be Trying

We know how trends and what’s hot and what’s not is ever changing. From styles of clothing, to music, to dances, everyone is trying to stay on the current wave. However, while trying to keep up with these different categories of trends, people tend to forget about an important factor that goes with every trend and that’s COLOR! Here are 5 color trends that you need to know and can use for multiple parts of your life.

Natural Dyes

Earthy tones are in this summer! Neutrals, greens, shades red and orange are super popular right now and are perfect for the spring! These colors or dyes are called natural dyes because of the source they come from. A lot of these dyes are made from flowers like marigolds and dandelions. Some of these colors can even be made from things you may have in your house like coffee and tea or even avocado skins. Aside from being beautiful colors, these dyes are better for our environment than chemical dyes that are more commonly used. You will see the natural dye trend most in sports/active wear, but they have been spotted in every type of clothing.

Coral

Named Pantone’s color of the year, coral is very relevant in all industries. Being a mixture of pinks and oranges, coral can attract and look good on anyone! This color is so lively and really brings energy to a room. Pantone states that this color brings “comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.” You’ve seen it worn in fashion with a statement piece or it can blend in with the other colors of the spring, depending on what concept you’re going for. You will notice designers and especially interior designers finding ways to incorporate this color into their creations.

Pop Of Color

Now, this is a color trend we’ve seen on and off again for ages. Having any color surrounded by shades of neutrals or blacks and whites will give the color component the ability to stand out. Say you have a shoe or pants that are saturated with color. You don’t want to add a whole bunch of other colors with it or it has the potential to get lost in the sauce. Pair that piece with an all-black or all-white look. Keep the fit simple and let the piece do the talking for you! You will see this in fashion of course, but this trend has made its’ way to hairstyles and makeup as well!

Reflectors

Now I know this isn’t an actual color, but the reflective material is a trend that has blown up. You can spot this trend on the runway of your favorite designers and on the bodies of the hottest celebs! Reflectors give the design a futuristic, out of this world, type of vibe when done the right way! This is the perfect way to add a little umph in your outfit if you’re feeling a little basic. This trend is easy to find in stores; there are reflective fanny packs, reflective visors and bucket hats, shoes, and booties. You will see this trend the most in streetwear tracksuits, but it has been spotted on high fashion runways as well! The fit below is from clothing company, gsuwoo, who loves incorporating reflective wear in its creations.

Monochromatic

I love, love, love this color trend. Again, this is one that has been a constant for years, sometimes you just see it more. Monochromatic looks, so in other words, shades of all the same color. Now of course all-black or all-white is cool, but pick a color like pink, purple, orange, blue, etc., and find different products in shades of that color. Whether you’re doing it for an outfit or an interior design look, it will bring something unique to your creation.
