10 Celebrities Who Have Given Birth During Lockdown

Although we are in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, there are many people, including celebrities, out there who are pregnant or have given birth during these dark times. The prospect of being pregnant and giving birth in ordinary times seems a bit like a walk in the park, a socially-distanced one of course.

Please be aware that all of the female celebrities who have given birth that are featured in this article are first-time mothers or their recent newborn isn’t their oldest/first child. Although welcoming a newborn child during the coronavirus pandemic might be complicated and scary, some celebrities are also documenting their experiences on what it’s like giving birth in the middle of these complicated times. Other celebrities have also praised the doctors and nurses who helped welcomed their newborns too.

Now, with all of that being said, listed down below are 10 Female Celebrities Who Have Given Birth During Lockdown:

1. Chloe Sevigny:

One of the several female celebrities featured in this article who gave birth to her first child in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic is Chloe Sevigny. On May 2, the Oscar-Nominated Actress gave birth to her first child, a son, with boyfriend Sinisa Mackovic. The couple named their son Vanja Sevigny Mackovic.

Sevigny was also one of the many celebrities who thanked and praised hospital and healthcare workers for their “Bravery, perseverance and kindness.” She also gave a special shoutout to the nurses for being so “Gentle and patient.”

2. Grimes:

The birth of the singer’s and Elon Musk’s first child on May 4 had everyone talking as the two celebrities initially named their newborn son “X Æ A-12″(pronounced “Ex Ash A Twelve” or “Ex Aye Eye”).

However, they later changed their son’s name to “X Æ A-Xii” because “X Æ A-12” wasn’t accepted. “In California, you can only use the ’26 characters’ of the English language in your baby name,” he explains. “Thus, you can’t have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like ‘O’Connor,’ is acceptable,” David Glass, a family attorney, explained in a People Magazine article.

3. Hope Solo:

In an Instagram post, the FIFA Women’s World-Cup Winning Goalie revealed that she and her husband, former NFL Player Jerramy Stevens, welcomed their twins: son Vittorio Genghis and daughter Lozen Orianna Judith on March 4.

In another Instagram post by Uninterrupted (see below), Solo discussed how hard it was to be a first-time parent during the coronavirus pandemic, stating: “It has been incredibly stressful times for [Jerramy and I]. We’ve been out in public more than we wanted to be, but we would like to thank all the incredible nurses and the doctors who helped take care of our babies during our time in NICU.”

4. Alex Morgan:

Hope Solo wasn’t the only former FIFA Women’s World-Cup winner who gave birth during the coronavirus pandemic. Alex Morgan, who won the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups with The USWNT, welcomed her first child, a daughter named Charlie Elena, with husband Servando Carrasco on May 7.

5. Maren Morris:

Another one of the female celebrities who gave birth to her first child during the coronavirus pandemic was Country Singer Maren Morris. She and her husband, fellow Country Singer Ryan Hurd, welcomed their son Hayes Andrew Hurd, on March 23, 2020.

Morris later revealed in an Instagram post that her son’s birth came after being in 30 hours of labor and having an emergency C-Section. In the same post, she also praised the “doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals” that took care of their family, writing, “They risked their health every day to make sure ours was okay. I can’t think of anything more selfless than that.”

6. Jenna Dewan:

The actress and her fiancee, Tony-winning Actor Steve Kazee, welcomed their son, Callum Michael Rebel Kazee, on March 6, 2020. The newborn is Kazee’s first child and Dewan’s second. Dewan has a seven-year-old daughter Everly with her ex-husband and Step Up Co-Star Channing Tatum, who she was married to from 2009-2019. Dewan and Kazee started dating while she was separated from Tatum.

7. America Ferrera:

The Emmy-winning Actress gave birth to her second child, a daughter with her husband Ryan Williams on May 4. However, Ferrera revealed the news on May 10 (which was also Mother’s Day this year) in an Instagram post. Ferrera and Williams named their newborn daughter Lucia Marisol Williams. The couple are also parents to a son named Sebastian, who turned two on May 29.

I would say the last two months have weighed a little heavily on me because I haven’t been able to interact with my friends or have that physical support of friends being around.”
