As every college student knows, this place is stressful. Here at the College of Charleston, we’re a pretty emotional bunch and finals hit us like a truck. If you’re at the college and need to let the tears flow, here’s 10 places to cry at College of Charleston.
1. Rivers Green
Rivers green is a peaceful area behind the library where you can lay on the grass or by the fountain. But, if you need a more secluded spot to cry, there are benches tucked away all around where the trees provide cover.
2. Randolph Hall
If you look closely, beneath the pillars is a little walkway before you get to the grassy platform of the Cistern. This are is covered and provides the perfect hiding spot for crying. It is also very shaded so you don’t have to see the happy sun while you’re losing your mind.
3. Your Dorm Room
There is no place like home…or your college dorm room. While it may not be as comforting as curling up with your dog at your parent’s house, your dorm room is your one true space at the College of Charleston. You could cry in your bed, at your desk, or, if you can’t make it to your room, the elevator.
4. Addlestone Library Computer Cubicles
The library is such a big place but the best thing about it is the privacy walls between the computers. If you lean in, no one will see you crying. Everyone will just think you’re looking at your keyboard or maybe saw a sad animal video.
5. Stern Gardens
This is a beautiful spot on campus that makes you feel better every time you’re there. There are plenty of tables, benches, and lots of grass that you can sit at to cry. Plus, whenever you finish crying, you can then sit by the turtles and coy fish to see how amazing life can be.
6. Liberty Dining Hall
Nothing goes better with crying than food, especially ice cream. Liberty dining hall can offer you not only a meal but a table to cry at. There are also orange lounging chairs with privacy sides on them so you could just curl up and cry right there.
7. Labs In The Lightsey Center
Anyone who has been in lab can tell you, we all want to cry when we’re there. No one will judge because we all understand.
8. Cougar Mall
Cougar Mall typically has a heavy traffic flow but if you time it right, it can also be a peaceful spot to rest between classes. If you’re in the crying mood, curl up next to Clyde and let it all out. He understands; he’s been here for years.
9. Einstein Bagels
If carbs make you feel better, get on over to the bagel shoppe. While the employees may judge you a little bit for crying there, your fellow Cougar students will understand. Go ahead and use that maroon meal because you’re worth it.
