Best Netflix TV Shows to Binge Watch this Summer

Summer is the time to be out and about, enjoying the great weather and all the outdoor activities you couldn’t do during the colder months. While all that’s great, these summer months can get seriously hot. There’s nothing better than being able to escape the heat by spending a little time inside with the AC blasting, something to watch and snacks galore. Sites like Netflix and Hulu plus are essential for finding shows with multiple seasons to take up all your free time. Here are 6 TV shows you can binge watch on Netflix this summer—including some of my favorites.

Switched at Birth
Switched at Birth is one of my recent favorites. The show follows two teenagers, Bay and Daphne, and all of the life changes they experience after learning an unimaginable secret. That’s right, you guessed it, the girls were switched at birth. Switched at Birth follows Bay and Daphne’s lives as their families struggle to coexist together and come to terms with what happened to their daughters.

Dexter
Dexter is a show that is sure to have you hooked! By day, Dexter Morgan works as a blood spatter expert for the Miami Metro police. However, when he’s off the job, Dexter is a serial killer. If you like crime shows this is definitely something you should be watching. Be warned—you better be prepared to see a lot of blood.

Grey’s Anatomy
Beginning with her first day as a surgical intern the Grey’s Anatomy series follows the life Meredith Grey and all of the personal and professional challenges she faces. After plot twist upon plot twist, I can’t seem to stop watching. Bio and Nursing majors aren’t the only ones to be hooked! It’s hard not to get attached to Meredith and become emotionally invested in her success. Netflix currently has 10 seasons of Grey’s for you to spend your time binging on.

Scandal
If you haven’t jumped on the scandal train by now, seriously where have you been? Scandal’s heroine is Olivia Pope, professional fixer and mistress to the President of the United States. Real-life First Lady, Michelle Obama, loves Scandal. And if it’s good enough for the FLOTUS to binge watch on Netflix, I’m all about that. With Scandal ending its 4th season, now is the perfect time to check out what all the buzz has been about.

Orange is the New Black
With season 3 right around the corner, now is the perfect time to get caught up on Netflix’s hit show Orange is the New Black. Everyone is sure to be talking about what’s happening to Piper Chapman and crew in the coming weeks. Lesbihonest OITNB is the perfect blend of comedy and drama to tell the tale of this beloved behind bars community.

New Girl
This chemistry of the characters on New Girl is definitely one of the fist things you’ll fall in love with. While everyone is unique in their own way, the writers manage to make these characters mesh flawlessly. New Girl follows the life of Jess, her best friend Cece, and her three roommates—Nick, Schmidt, and Winston. All the goofy moments and awkward situations that this crew get themselves into are sure to have you giggling with every episode.
