1. The Plough and the Stars

The Plough and the Stars is located on 2nd Street in Old City. It is located within walking distance of Jefferson Station and other public transportation stops. Its menu boasts a variety of wines and beers as well as traditional Irish food like shepherd’s pie. They also hold a traditional music jam session and live music.

2. Tir Na Nog

Tir Na Nog is located near Suburban Station on Arch Street. They are open for brunch, lunch and dinner and have a variety of beers available. They also have a happy hour! The first Tir Na Nog opened in New York City, with the Philly restaurant opening 12 years later. They have traditional Irish food coupled with new American cuisine.

3. Con Murphy’s Irish Pub

Con Murphy’s, one of the best Irish pubs in Philly, is owned by two men from Limerick. The pub is located on JFK Boulevard at the Windsor Suites. Along with offering traditional food in a real Irish pub atmosphere, they have live music three nights a week. They also offer happy hour specials, a list of beers and wines, and specialty cocktails. They also serve brunch and have a kid’s menu.

4. Brownie’s Irish Pub

Brownie’s Irish Pub is located on 2nd Street in Old City. They have a laid-back atmosphere where smoking is allowed (no cigars or vapes, though). They have happy hour specials every weekday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., including food and drink specials. Despite being a small space, they offer a wide variety of food, a place to catch up on local sports, and a spot to have fun with friends.

5. Fado’s Irish Pub

Fado’s Pub is a modern Irish pub located on Locust Street in Center City. They are a chain of pubs that were started to bring the best Dublin pubs to cities across the United States. They offer a place to catch the best sports on television, including soccer, while serving up traditional and newer food and beers from around the world.

6. The Irish Times

The Irish Times is located on 2nd Street and is near the TLA, making it a great place to stop for dinner and drinks before or after a show. They have a game room and live music as well as trivia and bingo on certain nights. They also televise live sports, including soccer and local sports. They offer outdoor seating and serve lunch, dinner and drinks.

7. Moriarty’s Irish Pub

The building, located on Walnut Street next to the Forrest Theater, started out as a residential building before becoming a store and then a restaurant. From there, Moriarty’s was born and the rest is history! The pub offers a wide variety of food from appetizers, sandwiches and entrees to late night fare. They also boast a variety of beers on draft and in bottles. The award-winning pub hosts private parties and events and is one of the most popular pubs in Philly.
