9 Best Budget Friendly Date Night Ideas

Going on fancy dates is nice every once in a while, but not when your wallet is empty because of it. There are ways to save money and still have a good time! I’ve put together nine budget friendly date night ideas that you will love. Let’s get started!

1. Go To Happy Hour

Going to happy hour is a great way to save some money and still enjoy good food and drinks. This budget-friendly date idea is perfect for my pizza or taco lovers out there. Research when your favorite restaurant’s happy hour is and plan a date night. Going a little earlier than normal is your biggest compromise with this one.

2. Stay In

Staying in for a night doesn’t have to be as boring and mundane as it sounds. Grab some board games, watch a new movie, or bake cupcakes together. You will find that you bond more when you are doing intimate things like playing a game or cuddling on the couch. Saving money has never been so fun!

3. Watch The Sunset

Taking a cute picnic out to watch the sunset on the lake is such a great way to save money but still have a great time. Chances are, you can find all the supplies you need for a picnic in your fridge and all you need is a blanket or towel to sit on. Soak up the beauty of nature while sipping on wine and eating pizza. Sounds like heaven to me.

4. Go On A Hike

Going on a scenic, nature hike is a great way to get in a workout and a date all at once! Hike up to your favorite spot and sit at the top discussing deep topics. This is a great photo opportunity as well. Plus, it doesn’t cost anything except the price for gas to get there.

5. Attend An Inexpensive Concert

Concert tickets don’t have to cost hundreds of dollars, in fact, they can cost as low at $10. Some are even free! Just do your research and find out when your city is hosting some inexpensive concerts. This is a great date ight idea for when you want to save money but still have an amazing time. Who knows, you might even fall in love with a new band or artist.

6. Go Hot Tubbing/Swimming

Everyone loves soaking in a hot tub, especially with the love of your life. If you don’t have the luxury of a hot tub at home, you can always go swimming in a nearby lake or ocean. Skinnydip if you are feeling risky! If your gym has a pool or hot tub you can go there as well. But chances are you know someone with a hot tub who could hook you up. This date idea is so relaxing and rejuvenating.

7. Go Stargazing

Going stargazing is a great way to truly enjoy the beauty of nature and get closer to your love. You can stargaze basically anywhere, in your backyard, in the bed of a truck, or out in the middle of nowhere. This is a great time to have those deep conversations, maybe ones you’ve been putting off for a while. Something about staring into outer space makes you want to get serious.

8. Cook Dinner Together

You don’t have to eat at a five-star restaurant to experience fine dining. Look up a recipe you’ve been dying to try and spend an evening in the kitchen with your S.O. You will have so much fun and even learn something new! You don’t have to be an expert to follow basic cooking instructions, and who knows, maybe this will be something you do more often.

9. Budget Friendly Date: Go To A Museum or Art Gallery

Going to a local museum or art gallery can be so fun and cost little to no money. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of art or history with someone you care about. You will learn something and maybe get to teach your date something too. Museums don’t all have to be boring. Just open your eyes a little wider and you will be able to appreciate the beauty of history.

There you have it! I hope these budget-friendly date ideas changed your perspective and made you excited to save money while you take a gamble on love. Let us know in the comments which of these ideas you are excited to try out. Happy dating!
